Welcome to our house Casa Vecchia (Old House). This very old house is placed in the eco-ethno village called Gornje Zaraće ( Upper Zaraće), between Hvar and Stari Grad. Casa Vecchia is located at the top of the village with open sea view at Pakleni Islands, Sušac Island, Korčula and Šćedro Island. Gornje Zaraće is just about 300 meters from the nice and quiet sea bay Doljne Zaraće (lower Zaraće) with pebble beaches, restaurants and crystal clear water.

The space
Velo Zaraće is a small village. Back in its days(100 years ago), 150-200 people used to live there together like one big family and they were all fishermen or farmers. Farmers worked in lavender fields, immortelle, rosemary, olive fields, vineyards and produced essential oils and wine.
Today there are just several families who live in the village, in 2000th there was none except for a pack of cats. People left the village in search of a better life, it was too hard to live a life of labourers. Most of them moved just 7 km away in the City of Hvar so they could always stay in touch with their little village. Now, step by step, they are all getting back in search of peace, relaxation, silence that was never been disturbed by today's stressful hasty city life.
Beneath the village Velo Zaraće ( Upper Zaraće), in the foothill, there is a sea bay where lies Doljnje Zaraće ( lower Zaraće). There are two beautiful pebble beaches with two restaurants and a beach bar. On the other side of a bay(a couple of minutes by foot from one bay to the other, passing by vineyards and olive tree field) there is another pebble beach, and unique natural rock structure sticking out of a crystal clear water, so if someone decides to visit this serene place, I suggest not to forget snorkelling equipment.
Above the bay, there's small historical church of Our Lady of Health.
Also, there is plenty of parking places.

Casa Vecchia is settled in the eastern side of the village and its horizon reaches from Šćedro Island until Vis, Biševo and Pakleni Islands, what makes it a very large wiew, not every house offers it. In front of the house there is a place between very old house walls with no roof where you can relax in the sunshine and enjoy in the beautiful view at the open horizon.
