Comfy bed for better sleep

A stunning 2+-acre property in a mountainous and rural ocean-side setting just 40 mins from Victoria in Metchosin, BC. City, ocean, and Mt. Baker views. A gorgeous modern, artistic 1,000 sq' suite. Enjoy fresh food from the garden and herb hill (in season), hot tub, hiking trails, lake, beaches and more! An open and positive environment for people from all walks of life! LGBTQ+2S welcome. A car is highly recommended. This is a quiet, rural area. Small dogs welcome – please talk to us about it.

The space
Metchosin is truly a magical rural place. This property was created especially to take in the incredible views of Mount Baker, Victoria and the US Olympic mountain range. When people visit, they always gush over the view - even our neighbours do. On special occasions, we can see the fireworks and see the full moon and sun rise from here! There is so much nature here, eagles, owls, numerous other small birds (especially hummingbirds), deer, bunnies, and the occasional bear!

The gorgeous open concept suite is 1,000 sq' with warm wood beams, huge windows, high ceilings, and elegant touches like hand-blown pendant lights from Venice over the glass dining table, and a hand-pottered pendant light from Provence, France over the kitchen island. Other unique touches included real art and hand-woven tapestries on the walls from around the world and Heidi’s studio. Hand-crocheted dish cloths, an exceptionally comfortable bed, and quality furnishings are our pride.

The two couches fold down to comfy beds to accommodate up to 4 extra guests. The Smart TV comes with all your favourite streaming media including Netflix, Prime Video and music. Reliable, high-speed internet (5G) are available for entertainment and work on your laptops.

The large, modern kitchen is supplied with good quality cooking gear (Lagostina and Paderno cooking/oven wear), dishes, microwave, coffee makers, electric kettle, Magic Bullet, etc.

This is a place designed to relax and enjoy and really feel like you are away from it all. Take your coffee or tea to a special area in the forest or end the day at the wonderful therapeutic hot tub which is at your disposal 24/7.

Guest access
You have a whole self-contained suite to yourself. The shared spaces outside the suite are the bbq, gardens, forest, and hot tub (which you can use privately by yourselves).

For guests who are in transit from other locales or staying more than 3 nights there is a shared laundry room on the first floor (access from outside with a code for the door). We are sorry, the suite is not wheelchair accessible.

Other things to note
The additional guest charge is for each additional guest at $25 per person per night. Let us know if you plan to use the sofa beds. We will provide bedding and a memory foam topper if requested, as well as towels for the shower and hot tub.

Please note, the suite is not baby or child-proof. The t.v. is easily accessible by children and the tables are glass, so extra care must be taken. Please let us know if you have any special requirements for children and let us help make it safer.

Small dog: we welcome your small, furry family member but ask that you take care to use the blankets provided to protect the furniture and bed and ensure that furniture and wood is protected from chewing or scratching. This is a large property so there is lots of space outside for walks in the forest and a trail that borders us. Please bring bags for poops, or at minimum please make sure droppings are not right on the paths where people may walk! Please use a leash off the property.

Hot tub: Please follow medical recommendations for the hot tub e.g., if you have heart, blood pressure, pregnancy etc. please do not use the tub. Young children are not allowed in the hot tub. To keep the tub healthy and available for use, we ask everyone to please rinse well in the shower before using the tub to remove oils, deodorant, creams etc. You should rinse and not use soap before using the tub.

Lastly, we know cannabis is legal but ask that if you like to smoke it please do so off the property. Cigarette or vape smoking is not allowed in the suite. For cigarettes, you must be at least 10’ from the house and use a container with water to always dispose of butts. Please advise us if you will need a container.

When people visit they always gush over the view - even our neighbours do! This place was created especially to take in the incredible views. On special occasions we can see the fire works from here. There is a lot of nature here - eagles, owls, numerous other small birds (especially humming birds), deer, bunnies, and the occasional bear! The nearby village has a couple of great cafes, corner store, museum, Art Pod, farmers market, book store and more.

This is me and my partner Michael. We live in beautiful Metchosin, a hamlet of Victoria, BC. We have a 2 acre property and love to garden, explore all the parks around here including ocean beaches and lakes, extensive biking/hiking/walking trails and work in my art studio. I am a visual artist with diverse interests at Studio H Canada. We love to travel and have had some successful trips as house exchangers in France. We are pretty social and outgoing but we won't get in your face if you need peace. Otherwise, let's light up the pizza oven or bbq (if there's no fire restrictions that is)! We also have a lovely therapeutic hot tub for some serious R&R.
