A stunning 2+-acre property in a mountainous and rural ocean-side setting 40 mins from Victoria in Metchosin, BC. City, ocean, and Mt. Baker views. A gorgeous modern, artistic 400 sq' suite. Enjoy fresh food from the garden and herb hill (in season), hiking trails, lake, beaches and more! An open and positive environment all people! IBPOC and 2SLGBTQI+ warmly welcomed. A car is required (2 max). This is a quiet, rural area. No smoking or vapes.
The space
Metchosin is truly a magical rural place. This property was created especially to take in the incredible views of Mount Baker, Victoria and the US Olympic mountain range. When people visit, they always gush over the view - even our neighbours do. On special occasions, we can see the fireworks and see the full moon and sun rise from here! There is so much nature here, eagles, owls, numerous other small birds (especially hummingbirds), deer, bunnies, and the occasional bear!
The hot tub is available on request. Please contact us for access.
This is a self-catered suite with a small fridge for fresh foods and two drawers in the side table for dry food storage. There is no cooking in this suite, but there are good options locally for restaurants and grocery for prepared foods. Micro and coffee maker with hot water dispenser. You can also use the bbq.
Lounge has a comfy couch, bar fridge, side-board with refreshments (tea, coffee etc.), TV.
If there are only 2 of you staying in the suite and you want to use the fold out couch, a $25 additional fee applies. Thank you for your understanding.
The Smart TV comes with all your favourite streaming media including Netflix, Prime Video and music. Reliable, high-speed internet (5G) are available for entertainment and work on your laptops.
The space is NOT set up for babies and toddlers or "baby proofed". There is not much clutter in the space, but there are some things little ones can get into (they are so good at that!). Please advise us of any needs you have regarding children in advance.
Guest access
You have a whole self-contained suite to yourself. The shared spaces outside the suite are the bbq, gardens, forest. The hot tub is used by others, but you would be alone in it for your own session.
For guests who are in transit from other locales or staying more than 3 nights there is a shared laundry room on the upper floor (access from outside with a code for the door). Please advise if you need it and book it with us in advance.
We are sorry, the suite is not wheelchair accessible.
Other things to note
The additional guest charge is for 1 guest only who is not in the bedroom (i.e., using the fold out couch) at $25 per night. Let us know if you plan to use the sofa bed and do not try to set it up yourself. We will provide bedding, a memory foam topper, a firm mattress support, plus towels for the shower. The additional guest fee(s) must be paid in advance of arrival.
Extra notes from experience:
*No drones or video recording is allowed on or near the property.
*We have room for 2 regular guest vehicles and there is no street parking. If you have a huge truck, camper or trailer, you must let us know in advance as we might not be able to accommodate it.
*Do not alter or change anything in the suite. If there are any issues at all, no matter how small, you must advise us so we can remedy asap.
*We will provide instructions about hot tub hygiene and session duration prior to arrival. Do not enter the hot tub without an orientation.
Guests may not bring a pet. If you bring a pet we will ask you to leave with no refund for your stay.
Lastly, there is no smoking of any kind (tobacco, vapes, bongs, cannabis etc.) on this property or in the neighbourhood at any time.

Metchosin is a magical rural location. Our neighbourhood is high up so you can see across to Victoria and the US Olympic mountain range. When people visit they always gush over the view - even our neighbours do! This place was created especially to take in the incredible views. On special occasions we can see the fire works from here. There is a lot of nature here - eagles, owls, numerous other small birds (especially humming birds), deer, bunnies, and the occasional bear! The nearby village has a couple of great cafes, corner store, museum, Art Pod, farmers market, book store and more.

This is me and my partner Michael. We live in beautiful Metchosin, a hamlet of Victoria, BC. We have a 2 acre property and love to garden, explore all the parks around here including ocean beaches and lakes, extensive biking/hiking/walking trails and work in my art studio. I am a visual artist with diverse interests at Studio H Canada. We love to travel and have had some successful trips as house exchangers in France. We are pretty social and outgoing but we won't get in your face if you need peace. Otherwise, let's light up the pizza oven or bbq (if there's no fire restrictions that is)! We also have a lovely therapeutic hot tub for some serious R&R.
