Where you’ll be

Decatur Island , Washington, United States

The lifestyle on Decatur Island is a very slow paced relaxed environment. Decatur Island is an exclusive "getaway" as there is no Public Access of any kind. You are at the mercy of mother nature and your own means of survival. There are very few permanent residents. Most people who sustain a residence there, are happy to survive off the land with gardens, fishing and an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Any food you will need or personal requirements must be brought in with you on a private charter boat that you can schedule from Skyline Marina, once your reservation has been made. Shopping can be done in Anacortes just before you catch your boat to come across. Perishables have no problem staying cold enough until you make it across and you can get them refrigerated. :) The boat ride across is usually astounding, with incredible views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Baker, and the local wildlife! You often see Porpoises, Seals, Eagles, and Killer Whales.
