Our modern cabin is set on 40 beautiful acres of pristine Hill Country. It sleeps up to 8 people; perfect for small families, couples, or friends looking to relax and enjoy some country luxury. Guests have access to fishing, swimming, roasting s'mores at the fire pit, lounging in the gazebo, and exploring the property.
Located right by Real Ale Brewery just 2 miles from downtown Blanco with restaurants, shopping, and Blanco State Park. Austin and San Antonio are also easily accessible by car.
The space
Please beware that we book 3 months out from the date of today when you are reading this. More than likely we are booked solid three months out. . Beyond these 6 months it may appear that we are booked but we just haven 't opened up. If there is a date beyond this time that you would like to inquire about beyond the 6 month mark-feel free to ask; more than likely we can open up specific dates beyond the 6 month mark. Thanks for understanding.
The Sweet Serengeti Cabin is the perfect Hill Country getaway. The Cabin is 1200 square feet and was built in 2017. It looks like a traditional barn from the outside but is full of new appliances and modern comforts on the inside. You will also have access to the pool table, ping pong table, and the built-in barbecue up at the main house.
The Cabin is ideal for up to 8 adults. There is one private ensuite bedroom with a California King memory foam mattress. The second bedroom is a semi-private loft upstairs with 2 trundle beds consisting of two twin beds that can be pushed together for couples or used separately. Please note, there is no door or wall in the loft for total privacy.
The third sleeping area is a comfortable memory foam SOFA BED ( in living room) that pulls out to a queen-sized mattress.
All guests share one bathroom that can be accessed from the master bedroom and the entrance laundry room. Please see photos for more detail.
There is a two day minimum,
Be advised that we have a resident ostrich that lives on the ranch. She is a very curious animal. If you are wearing a hat, glasses, or shiny jewelry she may come in for a closer look and may want to borrow anything it can peck- No need to worry- She is a very tame gentle ostrich named Betty. IF you arrive in more than one vehicle - please park the additional vehicle(s) up at the main house for your cars protection from Betty's pecks.
We do allow dogs to come on vacation with you to the cabin.
However in deciding whether or not to leave bring your dog please know that there are (3) three very important rules.
If you cannot abide by these then please consider leaving your pet at home.
1) Dogs are NOT allowed to sleep on top of the beds or be on the beds. We will be able to tell so please do not do it.
2) We prefer that the dogs not be allowed on top of the furniture; expressly the leather couch or any furniture.
The Cabin is dog-friendly. HOWEVER- YOUR DOGS MUST be on a leash AT ALL TIMES outside of the fenced in area in front of the cabin. Please ensure that your animals do not chase our ostriches or other exotics. You will have the opportunity to see and walk among- Ostriches, zebras, donkeys, Gazelles, wildebeest, and Oryx's. You will have the opportunity to feed the donkeys and zebras by hand- but ONLY from the enclosed fenced in area in front of cabin.
Upon arrival, please review the House Manual for instructions on how to best interact with them- although the host will come to greet and give animal handling tips.
Guests can dine out in Blanco or Johnson City or feel free to bring groceries and enjoy cooking in our open kitchen.
We provide the basics: pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, and cutlery. Some spices are also available.
Coffee, teas, hot chocolate and packaged oatmeal are complimentary for guests.

Guest access
There is a carport next to the cabin for guests park in. If you arrive in more than one car- we ask that extra cars park up at the main house (short distance) to PREVENT ostrich from pecking on your vehicles.
Other things to note
We have planned and worked very carefully to decorate, supply and clean the cabin for your upmost pleasurable stay. We ask that you be mindful of the decor as far as moving it aside or being careful to not break items that are meant to be looked at and not touched. If you should break something, please notify us right away. Please DO NOT light ( fire) any candles in the cabin – LED candles are provided for your stay. Thank you for observing these rules.
