Sasha Ger is a cozy, private glamping experience for couples or individuals wanting to unplug. Sasha Ger has its own outdoor kitchen with refrigerator & grill, hot tub, and private bathroom with outdoor shower and flushing toilet. The kitchen and bath are covered by a rooftop deck with a hammock and spectacular views. Yurtopia Wimberley has 6 secluded yurt sites: Sasha, Lena, Becca, Cara, Mila & Greta Gers, offering a fantastic private hideout in the woods with luxury amenities!

The space
Most guests first comment is "wow!" They open the gate to the private deck area and once it shuts behind them, their relaxation has begun. You can turn off the world during your stay at Yurtopia and just soak in the views, sights and sounds of the Texas Hill Country woods.

Enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset out by your fire pit, lounging in your hammock or while soaking in the hot tub. We specialize in private relaxation in the woods, but we also have those creature comforts that make it all worthwhile:
- AC in the summer, heat in the winter
- Reliable high-speed WIFI (rare around here!)
- TV with cable (ok fine, sometimes it's nice to plug back in for a movie or a football game)
- a hot tub on the deck
- a gas fire pit on the deck
- gas grill for barbecuing
- excellent local coffee beans with grinder (we take coffee very seriously around here, so we offer it complimentary for our guests)
- mini fridge and freezer for storing your food during your stay
- 10 acres of trails to explore the woods, hide in a tree, or do more hammock swinging.
- sweeping 360 degree views from your own private rooftop deck.
- Did we mention private?!?

NOTE - If there are no available dates for "Sasha Ger," be sure to look for our other two yurts "Lena Ger" and "Becca Ger."

WHAT'S DIFFERENT? Each of Yurtopia's three available bookings come with secluded privacy, and each of Becca Ger, Lena Ger, and Sasha Ger have very similar amenities. That being said, Sasha Ger is the most private of Yurtopia's three hilltop yurts, with its own yard area and view facing the back side of the hill.

"Ger" is yurt in Mongolian. Our yurts are made of authentically hand-stripped wood with sheep's wool insulation and horse hair ropes binding the structure together. Come experience what a sleeping in a real "ger" feels like!

Where you’ll be

Wimberley, Texas, United States

Wimberley is a fabulously quirky little town with more great food, coffee, and shopping than you can accomplish in one weekend. Below is a list of some of our favorites:

- The Leaning Pear - Open Tuesday - Sunday for lunch and dinner; "The Pear" as the locals call it has fabulous soup, sandwiches, pizza, crab cakes, and salads. Chef-owned, it's a perfect spot for a romantic hill country dinner.

- Community Beer Garden - Open Wed. - Sunday for lunch and dinner; Community has fantastic pizza, a great outdoor seating area and a huge selection of local beers on tap.

- Creekhouse - Open Wed - Sunday - Make a reservation! This place is super popular. Soul-satisfying food, craft cocktails, and live music with a hipster vibe and creek views. Chef owned and operated.

- Chills On the Creek - Closed on Tuesdays, Open rest of the week lunch and dinner; Fantastic burgers, cobb salad, tacos, wraps, margaritas, and queso. Super chill atmosphere with more affordable pricing than other choices on the square.

- Wimberley Cafe - Open Monday - Saturday 7am - 8pm and Sundays 7am - 4pm Great atmosphere, perfect migas, pancakes, chicken fried steaks, and burgers.

- Sip on the Square - Open Monday - Sunday 7am - 6pm. Excellent coffee, pastries, cinnamon muffins and wifi if you'd like to sit and have a coffee while you check your email.

-Cactus Coffee - Cactus Coffee is a food truck that has fantastic locally roasted coffee. Be sure to check their website before setting out to find out where their truck is on your day.

- Shamrock Tacos - Open Mon- Sun 7am - 3pm. Believe it or not, these tacos are from a gas station! We highly recommend calling ahead for your order on a weekend, because the line can be really long.

-Mima's Kitchen - Family-owned counter-serve, Mima's serves breakfast tacos & other Mexican food all day long. Homemade chips and queso are the best!!

Shop The Treehouse - Fabulous boho-chic housewares, decor, gifts, clothing and more. We love the owner, the staff, the vibe and all the goods at Shop The Treehouse!

Annie James - Cowgirl-chic, Annie James has the perfect outfit for your night out on the town in Wimberely! Women's clothes, jewelry, bags, and shoes.

Ceremony - Right on the Wimberley square in the oldest house in historic Wimberley, this shop is so beautiful and unique. Plants, gifts, candles, essential oils, house decor and more, this shop is perfect for yurt-lovers.

Gracious Ladies - Just a couple of doors down from Ceremony is the lovely Gracious Ladies shop with cozy, comfy clothing for women, men and babies.

We are a husband and wife team, with a passion for all things travel-related. We lived in Moscow, Russia for almost 8 years, so we have been privileged to travel in a wide variety of regions around the world from Russia to Uganda, The Netherlands to Mongolia, we have spent a lot of time exploring different cultures, languages, and food with our three daughters. We are dual citizens with Latvia, so we spend every summer exploring the Baltic region and visiting family in Riga. We bought our beautiful Wimberley, Texas property in 2009 and have worked for 10 years to cut trails, plant flowers, and build a place that we can comfortably share with others. The Mongolian yurts that we've built are the result of 3000 years worth of engineering brilliance to create the most amazing, cozy, warm-in-the-winter, cool-in-the-summer structures. We've made each one private and added the amenities that we like to have when we travel. Come visit Yurtopia Wimberley and prepare to relax into a state of bliss! Note regarding ownership: Brian and Ann-Tyler and Yurtopia Wimberley are doing business through their limited liability company, BoomShout, LLC.
