Nestled in the trees & a five minute trail walk to town, this cozy rustic-modern music-themed cabin feels remote yet is 200 paces to town restaurants & shops. A short stroll to the river to see Denali. Walk a nature trail to town from our back yard through the birch trees. A fully appointed kitchen, coffee, & tea & condiments with everything you need for cooking and a cozy gas fireplace for warming your feet by the fire. These two cabins are joined by a locked door - message me to rent both!

The space
Park your car out front and walk out the back yard five minutes to town on an easy walking trail in spring/summer/fall (ski it in the winter weather-permitting!). There is a Queen Bed, and a pullout couch twin bed and a twin floor mattress more suited for kids and tweens. We are next to the boat launch and you don't need to drive through town. This cabin is connected by a thick sound proof door with the same amenities for both cabins including a well supplied kitchen and a cozy full stand up loft bedroom with a queen bed and a pullout twin couch on the main floor. Rent one or rent both cabins! There's plenty of parking for RV's and trailers.

Guest access
The cabin deck and yard and the surrounding trails and woods are yours to enjoy. with a shared back yard.

Other things to note
There are so many fun and interesting activities in Talkeetna including taking a flight for a glacier landing or flight around Denali, River Rafting with Talkeetna River Guides, fishing for salmon, Zip-lining, watching local plays and listening to the music, "Live at Five" music concerts Friday afternoons in the town park, river walks and hiking trails or just heading up to the Lodge to hang out on Sundays for summer's live music evenings and incredible Denali Views. Those are just a few highlights of activities. Or you can just hang out at the cabin by a warm fire.

Location

Talkeetna, Alaska, United States

This secluded little spot in town is perfect for those who want privacy while still being within walking distance to the town of Talkeetna. It's is a five minute walk from the boat launch and campsites. The closest house is about a 1/4 mile away. The location is quiet with the exception of the daily Alaska train that everyone in town hears. We are less than a 1/2 mile walk from the Talkeetna Airport and Latitude 62 Restaurant on flat paved and gravel roads and sometimes at night, you might be lucky enough to hear the distant live music from the Historic Fairview Inn. You will definitely hear the sound of the mountain aircraft , mostly Turbine Otters, Beavers, and some Cessna 185's departing to and returning from Denali....aka Mt. Mckinley with the Mountain climbers and sight-seeing enthusiasts heading out to land on the glacier at the climber's 5000- foot (ASL) Basecamp on the Kahiltna Glacier or the Ruth Amphitheater near the mountain house.

I have two cabins in my favorite little funky Alaska town of Talkeetna and have been in the tourism business as an Aircraft Charter owner and pilot for over 20 years. Alaska has been my home for over 30 years starting in Kenai, then Talkeetna, Anchorage, and in "The Valley" (Wasilla). I really enjoy seeing visitors have the best memories on their getaways here in Alaska and on the upper west coast of Oahu where I escape for some winter sunshine. In the past, I've been a flight instructor and have flown out of Anchorage and in Talkeetna have flown the mountain, aka "Denali". I am always available for help with local activities as well as statewide flight information. I do whatever I can make a stay welcoming and comfortable as I look for the same thing when I travel. Travelers deserve a clean and cozy place to hang out and enjoy friends and family.

During your stay
I enjoy talking to people about my favorite unique Alaska town of Talkeetna. I give my guests space to explore on their own and I am available to answer any questions and can give you suggestions for local hotspots and activities based on years of living in Talkeetna, flying to the Mountain, and playing as a local musician. I currently run a flight business from Anchorage but I try to get to Talkeetna as much as possible.
