Honey Bear Chalet has all the bells & whistles! Stylish, spacious, renovated chalet with mountain views, hot tub, pool table, large Smart TVs and whole house WiFi! Expect modern comforts and conveniences normally found only in high-end hotels including high quality, cool bedding and luxury bathroom amenity sets to get your stay started. Not all properties are created equal and, after being at Honey Bear, we are certain you will agree!

This contemporary 3bd/2bath cabin is nestled on a ridge in Chalet Village facing Mt. LeConte, with views from the sides of the surrounding mountains and forest. The Honey Bear is a modified A-frame (better interior space and natural lighting, that is thoroughly and stylishly renovated. Expect no old paneling or popcorn ceilings! Rather expect focus on details and comforts you would only expect to find in a luxury chalet in the Rocky Mountains or even Alps!

Honey Bear comfortably meets the needs of large families or a small group. Uniquely, the chalet has two well-sized, living rooms allowing everyone to find their own space. Enjoy high quality, leather furniture and a 65" Smart TV for movie nights in the downstairs living area. Two seating areas are located in the upstairs, game room that includes a queen size sleeper sofa and pivoting wall-mounted TV for viewing angles. Both living rooms enjoy beautiful views of Mt. LeConte through the large, front 'wall of windows'. The downstairs living room includes the original 20' stacked stone, wood-burning fireplace for that classic mountain lodge feel!

On the first floor are 2 king bedrooms, while on the second floor you will find a king bedroom with private bath. Living areas have been tastefully renovated to complement the natural setting while the kitchen and bathrooms have been completely modernized. High thread count, hotel quality bed linens are used in the bedrooms to allow a perfect sleep, and the bathrooms have luxury starter toiletries to insure a good start to your stay!

Entertainment features include: 2 large Smart TVs, BluRay/DVD players, stereo systems, WiFi Internet, and a billiard table upstairs. DVDs and regional books of interest providing at home options for activity as well as to help take advantage of the wonderful recreational opportunities of the area. The bedrooms include stereo clock, docking stations for Apple products and other mobile devices. A large, flat panel TV is located in the upstairs bedroom. Enjoy a comfortable 4-person hot tub on the front deck looking out towards the mountain during the day or with the LED illumination at night. Park model grill is available on the side of the house for grilling. Access to the Chalet Village members' clubs expand the recreational possibilities.

Homeowner's clubs with swimming pools, tennis courts, playground, fitness center and other facilities are available to Honey Bear guests during season (end of May through August for pools). Honey Bear is only half a mile to the South Chalet Village owner’s club with the largest pool, located at 1319 South Baden Dr. Ober Mountain Ski Resort and Amusement Park, downtown Gatlinburg including Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, and the main entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park as well as park visitor center (Sugarlands) are 5-10 minute drive away.

Driving/Parking: Chalet Village is on the side of a mountain above Gatlinburg, near Ober Mtn Ski Resort. Access is by good quality, paved mountain roads maintained by the city both in summer and during the winter ski season. At the Chalet there is ample flat parking at the top of the driveway for a maximum of three vehicles. With multiple cars, backing up may be required at leaving. Some guests not accustomed to driving in mountains might experience some discomfort the first time they drive the roads but become comfortable after a time or two!

During the 60-70s, a Swiss-born developer intent on capturing the beauty of homes from his native Alps, crafted classic chalets with great rooms offering extensive views through walls of windows and stacked stone fireplaces to embrace the nature of the Smoky Mountains National Park right outside. Our family has the pleasure of owning and renovating 'top to bottom' two such chalets from this era and sharing their unique beauty with guests!
