We are pet owners with 2 very friendly Golden Retrievers- one older and calm, the other an "energetic youngster." We also have an outside (back porch/garden only) kitty as well. There are 5 hens (no roosters) in the backyard and depending on the season- a fire pit, garden, and barbecue.

Sorry-we are unable to accommodate visiting pets.
We are conveniently within walking distance to Old Town Newberg with tasting rooms, eateries, and specialty shops. George Fox University is a short 15 min. walk to campus.
We do our best to recycle and compost,
We remove our shoes in the house to keep floors and carpet free of dirt.
I enjoy ironing (really- not kidding) so most likely your sheets and linens will be freshly ironed and wrinkle-free.
Our decor is a varied style of vintage, handcrafted, original furnishings and artwork.
We understand from experience how difficult it can be to find affordable accommodations when traveling. We hope to offer you a great value, a welcoming environment, and possibly even make some new friends in the process. :)
We have a teen daughter and love sharing our space with children as well. There is a nice park for playing and walking within a block of our house. I would describe our family as- kind, considerate, friendly, peaceful and casual.
**** If this is your first reservation on Airbnb:
• Please tell me a little bit about yourself when you make a reservation or inquiry - where you're coming from, if your group is family/friends, etc. It is important to us to be able to greet you by name and know you a bit prior to arrival at our home.
* Airbnb doesn't have pricing categories built-in for specifics (extra rooms, beds) so I may need to adjust the reservation price for your stay. You will need to accept the price difference after I submit a reservation modification. Very easy.
• I don't have access to your contact info, and I can't pass you mine until you make your reservation.
• Let me know if you have questions about anything at all: about me, my home or Airbnb in general.
*We donate a percentage of the proceeds to sponsoring a child through Compassion International. It is a nonprofit that helps provide food, activities, clothes and school fees to needy children in poverty. Your stay helps to sponsor a young girl in Burkina Faso Africa. Thank you for staying with us and helping contribute to sponsoring this special girl.
We hope you enjoy our family home. We love hosting guests and want you to feel welcome and comfortable.
Please remove your shoes in the house to help with maintenance.
We appreciate you communicating with us your time of arrival as accurately as possible. We are not a hotel with a staffed front reception area. :) Often our day is scheduled around your arrival time. It helps us plan to personally greet you for check-in. After checking in, you will be given a key so you can come and go as you wish. Check in hours are between 2-8 pm. Check out 11:00 am.
Please remember, Airbnb is more than a cheap alternative to hotels. People are opening up their homes to you, sharing their possessions, welcoming you into their lives. There are unique features to every space and each host is different. We hope you will enjoy the experience!
This was our second time with Krista and Pete and, as before, it was a pleasure to stay in their home. They are welcoming and accommodating and the rooms are private, spacious, and comfortable. I loved listening to the chickens pecking away happily in the backyard, the breakfast was tasty, and the morning coffee strong. There's not much more one could ask for in an airbnb accommodation, which is why we come back.
As soon as we pulled up in the driveway, we were welcomed with open arms. Within minutes, we could tell it would be a great few days with Krista and Pete. Their home and accomodations were wonderful. We felt like we were friends visiting friends! Krista and Pete are awesome. They gave us ideas for wonderful walking trails, places to eat and wineries to try. The made us feel like we belonged there. We enjoyed having wine on the patio with them and chatting. This was our first airbnb experience and we can't imagine having a better experience than this one! We highly recommend a stay with them. We will be back and bring friends too!!
5 stars. Krista and Pete roll out the red carpet. It's greenish actually, and it's so fluffy clean and soft and feels so nice under your tired feet. The whole guest areas are covered in it and it's brand new too. (love the no shoes in the house rule, so clean!) Our experience was top notch. 3 friends traveling and we each had our own room and own queen bed. Krista is like a breath of fresh air and energy. Pete is hard working and smiles a lot. Attention to details in every direction. Fun, warm and inviting environment. Their beautiful daughter Sarah is affectionate and friendly. They love animals and their dogs are equally sweet and smile a lot too. If you're sensitive to noise, pick the 1st room on the left. The rooms to the right are nearer the back yard and chicken coop. Morning's hens can be chatty. The coffee and granola are amazing and anything Krista bakes melts in your mouth. They let us use their kitchen which saved us a bundle ($$s and calories). Quiet neighborhood and though we were giggling and watching videos until late they didn't hear us.
Krista and Pete were AWESOME hosts, to say the least!
My family stayed with them after a day of wine tasting in the Newberg/McMinnville area, and we could not have had a better experience. They provided awesome recommendations for must-hit wineries, restaurants, and even activities within the town. Their home was beautiful and they made sure we were very comfortable in our rooms. The beds and pillows were also extremely comfortable - I was surprised to sleep so soundly in a new place!
In the morning, Pete and Krista had fresh brewed coffee waiting for us - something I didn't at all expect!
Overall, I'd recommend anyone staying within Oregon country to check out the Miller household - they really know what they're doing!
Thanks again Krista & Pete!
Terrific welcome! Very cordial, relaxed, comfortable and friendly. Loved swapping stories with them at breakfast! Spotlessly clean and light-filled space, amazingly private considering we were on the second floor of their home. we felt like old friends.
The only word to describe Krista and Pete's airbnb is "perfect". If you have any reason to stay in Newberg, this is the place. You'll be staying in a truly beautiful home with an even more beautiful family. Krista and Pete make you welcome and as much a part of the family as you'd like, but also give you all the space you'd like - you have the whole upstairs to yourself! The bed I stayed in was super comfortable, the room so quiet and dark at night (you'll sleep so well). There is so much attention to detail - the Millers really put effort into making this a good experience for you. I will treasure my memories of drinking Pete's fantastic coffee at the kitchen bench while flipping through Krista's cookbooks and chatting with her, and playing with Gracie and Shelby (two beautiful dogs). By the end of my stay here I felt like family. I feel so lucky I chose this house, and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat! Thank you thank you Krista and Pete xxx
Krista and Pete are fantastic hosts! The rooms were cozy and clean and the conversation was delightful! My sisters and I enjoyed getting to know Krista and Pete and enjoying some espresso and homemade granola in the morning with the sun shining in the window.
I would stay here again and again!

Pete is a small business owner as an Artisan Coffee Roaster in Newberg called Caravan Coffee. He sources quality coffee from all over the world, and distributes to coffee shops and directly to consumers. We love to promote social projects in the communities we buy beans from and have traveled to several countries to visit the farms and build relationships with our coffee producers. We have traveled to Brazil, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Hawaii and most recently to Andalucia Spain.
Pete is active in our local community by being involved in Rotary, Newberg Downtown Coalition, and Chamber of Commerce.
Our family hosted foreign exchange students (both High school and college age) for 10 years. We are very comfortable sharing our home with others and hope that you feel comfortable and welcome as well.
I (Krista) was raised in this local community of Newberg on a small hazelnut, family farm with childhood memories of riding my horse through Downtown Newberg. Through the years I have witnessed this tiny, unknown town evolve into the famous wine hub of today. I am a homemaker and enjoy baking, farmer's markets, bookstores, gardening, antiques and reading.
We recently joined a ballroom dance club and our newest endeavor is to learn some new dances. You may witness our "practice sessions" as we dance through the living room, attempting to master some new moves.
We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to our beautiful Wine Country!
