The space
Make your visit to wine country memorable with a stay at the 5 star reviewed Historic Dayton Wine House on the National Historic Registry. You’ll feel the grandness of this 1885 Victorian home right when you step inside and experience its 11 foot ceilings and oversized rooms. This is the prominent home on the Dayton town square featuring over 3400 finished square feet, comfortably sleeping up to 13 people in 5 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms. Perfect for both large or small groups.

It is very important to us that sleeping be a luxurious experience the same as staying at a high end hotel: the mattresses are so comfortable and the linens and towels are all clean, white and high quality, that guests frequently ask where they can get them for their own homes.

The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing a gourmet meal, with room for several chefs to cook at once. The 10 foot farmhouse table is a great gathering place and comfortably seats 12 people. There is a propane Weber for grilling and a large deck for enjoying a glass of wine outside. The half acre yard is perfect for kids or adults playing lawn games or just relaxing in the hammocks. Directly across the street is the town square park that includes a playground, dog park and basketball court.

After a day of exploring and wine tasting, settle in to watch a movie on the theater-sized 135” HD projection TV with Paradigm speakers, or relax and listen to music in one of the leather club chairs in the adjacent living room. Or just take a soothing salt soak in the clawfoot tub.

Oregon is a world-class wine destination and recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first planting of its pinot noir grapes. The wine house is perfectly positioned in the middle of the Willamette Valley for easy access to taste at one of its 400+ wineries and is also close to the towns of Mcminnville, Newberg, Dundee and Carlton. Multi-million dollar tasting rooms with jaw-dropping views and world class wines are only minutes away. We are happy to share our favorite wineries or help with any suggestions for your trip.

For dining there are several options walking distance from the Wine House including an ice cream shop for the kids.

The entire house and property is yours for your stay! We have hammocks in the spacious back lawn and Adirondacks on the back deck, two cruiser bikes, a bocce set, and a grill in the garage. Inside, there's a 135" HD projection TV home theater, coffee and popcorn. The living room has high end Bluetooth-enabled speakers.

Other things to note
Base pricing is for the first 6 guests, then a $25 per night per guest fee applies. We have this pricing in place since the house is so large to keep the Wine House open to both larger and smaller groups.

Dayton is an amazing escape, just 30 miles from Portland; enjoy live music and activities in the town square park directly across the street Friday nights all summer. Visit any one of hundreds of wineries, bike around exploring the many lovable small towns and shops, go antiquing, and eat at amazing restaurants; the Willamette Valley is a great place to visit.

Walk from the house to several great restaurants including The Joel Palmer House, Loam, Brick Hall and Juanita's Ice Cream. Seufert winery's tasting room is also on the square. The towns of Mcminville, Dundee and Newberg are just a few miles away.

We are long-time Portland residents, both having made our way West, when fate brought us together one Fourth of July. When not working (Greg is a realtor with Think Real Estate and Kathy is an event producer), we love to travel and enjoy all things outdoors. We had been coming to Oregon wine country for years and love the area and its wines, and we were lucky to find this house in 2014. We hope you love it as much as we do!
