  • What a wonderful host and apartment!!! The apartment was everything the listing said it would be and more! We loved all the small details right down to the handy travel books Michel had to use. The apartment has close access to the subway and many restaurants. Michel is a friendly and very informative host. He took us on a little tour of the neighbourhood and made some recommendations on restaurants, markets, sites and how to get around easily. This stay was most definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I would stay again in a second and recommend this apartment and Michel as a host. There wasn't anything more we could have asked for.

  • There is a good reason that there are so many positive comments about the apartment in the Bastille. Michel is passionate about Paris and welcoming guests. We managed to get ourselves lost getting to the apartment. I need to say it is not hard to find the apartment, we made an error in map reading. Michel came to our rescue, gave a full introduction to the apartment and then took us on a tour of the neighbourhood. When we came to leave Michel likewise showed us where to get the bus to the airport, an easy walk from the apartment.
The apartment had everything we needed, was well laid out and spacious.

It was a short walk to the metro at Bastille, although on our first day we comfortably walked to Notre Dame and on another occasion walked back through the Marias. There are plenty of great places to eat within a few minutes walk. There is a copy of 50 walks in Paris and using this was an excellent way to explore.

We would happily stay here again.

  • Best airbnb host ever! Thank you Michel for your hospitality and hosting us. :)

We are so tremendously blessed to be able to stay at Michel's Bastille apartment for 4 nights and then another 4 nights at his Montmartre apartment. Both apartments are unique and awesome in their own way. I would suggest booking the apartment at Bastille first to take in all the city sights using the convenient Metro Line 1, followed by his Montmartre apartment to experience the lively neighborhood and to soak in the rich culture of the area.

Believe in what you see from the photos because they are totally true! Both my husband and myself were in awe of both apartments and will be "stealing" some ideas from Michel's apartment for our own apartment.

We were deeply touched by Michel's generous gesture to help us in some areas we were concerned in. Thank you for waking up so early for us to ensure that we are able to reach the train station on time.

I doubt anyone can find a better host and apartment in Paris so do quickly book if there are available dates otherwise you will be disappointed as his apartments are hugely popular!

  • Michel could not have made our stay any easier or better than what he did. He gave us some absolutely amazing restaurant recommendations and a tour around the neighbourhood (which is also a fantastic location). All of the small touches that Michel puts into the apartment to help you enjoy your stay don't go unnoticed. We would love to stay again, thanks Michel!

  • Michel's apartment in the Bastille area of Paris was exactly what we expected based on his ad and the many reviews. It was very nice, clean and spacious. The kitchen and bathroom is very large for Paris and allowed us to have comfortable breakfasts and lunches. And Michel gave us a great tour of the surrounding neighborhood as well as assistance in arranging for activities around the city. He was a very gracious host.

The neighborhood of Bastille is not the most scenic or iconic for Paris, but we barely spent any time in the apartment or surrounding area. There is a Metro stop at the top of the street, along with a cab stand and bike rental stand, so you can very quickly get to any area of Paris depending on your preference in transportation.

  • We stayed in this beautiful apartment for 4 nights and loved it.
Michel, the friendly owner, welcomed us and showed us round the area. He was incredibly helpful, advising us of places and areas to visit, gave us tips about the best locations for seeing the major sights and how to travel the wide expanse of the city quickly and safely.
The flat itself was light, comfortably furnished and contained everything you needed for your stay. Even breakfast basics were provided - all you needed to get is some delicious French bread from the boulangerie up the road! As the flat faced an inner courtyard, it's very quiet. Perfect for relaxing.
We followed some of Michel's fab suggestions, but didn't have time to try them all. But if it hadn't been for him, we wouldn't have discovered the lovely Le Marais district, which we absolutely loved.
We'll be back for further explorations.

  • First, Michel is a very considerate host. On our first day he wandered with us through the open-air market and wine shop, helping pick out 'the basics'. He gave us a number of restaurants to consider and was extremely attentive. The neighborhood is a typical Paris neighborhood within a couple of blocks of the Metro and much to see in the Marais and area around the Bastille. By our second day we felt at home

The apartment is comfortable and warm, quaintly decorated. The kitchen has everything you need and more. Plenty of room to move about and well stocked with dishes, wine glasses and coffee. I'm 62 and the trip from the mezzanine bedroom to the bath via the stairs was a bit challenging at night. But if you're more spry it won't matter. The bed was quite comfortable and large.

All in all, great place to stay in an ideal location.

  • Michel runs a 5-star Airbnb! What a warm welcome to Paris. He met us on the street and helped us carry our bags up to the room which was already stocked with milk, juice and wine and coffee that he offers for a small fee. He took the time to show us the neighborhood and introduced us to the butcher, the baker and the cheese maker! In the pouring rain! A few days into our stay he returned to give us fresh towels and make sure we were well situated. He even offered to escort us to the train station on our last day.
The apartment is cozy and located on a quiet residential street. The building is older than some countries but has been kept up to date very well. Free calling to the U.S. was unexpected and amazing. You can't do wrong staying with Michel!

  • Michel was warm, helpful and kind. We could not have asked for more. The listing was as is shown...except we made the mistake of not realizing that we would not be able to stand in the loft. That was our error...not one with the listing. We are 5'10" and taller. The entire apartment was delightful and wifi included made getting around even easier. The neighborhood is full of locals, quiet, and extremely charming. We loved the experience.

  • Our first experience with Airbnb was a success. We are very pleased with our host Michel and his wonderful apartment. All initial communication and his recommendations before we even arrived was very helpful. He took also time to show us the neighborhood with some local markets and nice restaurants. Specially one restaurant become our absolute favorite. We very much recommend Michel and his apartment.

About
Hi everyone, I'm really enjoying sharing my knowledge and experiences of the city through the many wonderful people who've stayed as my guests through Airbnb - what a fantastic concept it is. I take much pleasure in making sure anyone staying with me has a great experience and stay and have a very professional approach in the preparation and presentation of my apartment. This apartment used to be my home in the city, and although I've moved now, I've taken a lot of care and paid a lot of attention in re-decorating and equipping it to make it the perfect pad from which to explore Paris... If you've got any questions or need any help while planning your trip to Paris I'd be very happy to lend a helping hand. Looking forward to hopefully meeting you and welcoming you to Paris...! Michel
