Fantastic host, very friendly, and kindly provided bikes for us to explore the beautiful surroundings. The abbey itself is stunning, highly recommended.
from the moment we arrived and walked in to meet Annalisa and Francesco the abbey presented as a very welcoming place. The descriptions are accurate but it is difficult to describe such a uniquely beautiful and historic property. If you appreciate modest, tidy clean accomodation with an amazing background and ambiance, this is a the place. We enjoyed our time in the abbey and highly recommend it. We were travelling by car and the location was fine, particularly for visits to Assisi and Perugia.
This is such a unique beautiful location - we couldn't have asked for a better retreat! The garden is stunning and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking! Our host was very friendly!
I allmost want to give a bad review because the place is fantastic and i want to: keep it secret, keep it safe "my precious". It is a rare jem. And is a mandatory stop through my future trips through Italy. The host made our stay as comfortable as possible. It was an amaising say. I hope you find it by luck. And discover this fantastic surprise and treat it with respect.
Le camere sono davvero molto belle e ben curate. La struttura è assolutamente fantastica!
The abbey is just as described - absolutely magical. We appreciated the comfy beds, quality sheets, good range of facilities and veggies from the garden. It's off the beaten track so mostly blissfully quiet other than occasional late night dogs & early morning cockerels! Kitchen cupboards could do with a jolly good clear out but that aside, it's a very special place.
The Ex-abbey, family home since the war, is really wonderful. Annalisa and her husband and family members are doing a brilliant job of restoration whilst providing unique apartments, full of history, frescoes and atmosphere - all within lovely gardens where we were invited to eat grapes, plums, other fruit/ veg and use the herbs in our cooking. The fridge had food and there was plenty for breakfast! We felt like guests of the family! Annalisa and her mum were very welcoming and helpful. We could choose to eat in one of the large sitting/breakfasting rooms or in our own apartment which had everything we needed to cook, wash clothes etc. It was very special with frescoes on all the ceilings and wonderful views from each of our rooms. (Pesky mosquitoes needed preventative measures but we enjoyed the frog songs!) We loved the tranquillity and the local walks but also the visits to medieval towns like Orvietto and Todi which were each about an hour by car. A great venue and a very scenic part of Italy. We would love to go back to Annalisa's family ex-abbey home -thank you for making a very special memory for us!! Allyson & Dave
