Lovely local cafes, bars delicatessens and shops just around the corner or a short walk over to Chelsea, Kings Road: Italian restuarant, San Geranno, The Lost Angel bar, a great affordable gastropub called Masons Arms, The Bluebird Cafe, Daylesford Farmshop and Cafe and the Farmers Markets on Pimlico Road and Duke of Yorks Square and the local supermarket (Tesco).
Nearby places of local interest are The Saatchi Gallery, The National Army Museum, The Chelsea Physic Garden, riverside architecture by Richard Rogers and Norman Foster, Battersea Power Station and the riverside walks along the Thames. Battersea Park is considered by many to be the most interesting of all London's parks with a lake, subtropical gardens, zoo, tennis courts and many routes for walkers, cyclists and runners, etc.
We stayed at Sally and Mathias's flat with friends over a weekend and found the flat to be in a great location to catch up and a base to visit London. They have both been friendly and accessible through the whole process and made the arrangements very easy. Key pick up and parking worked fine and hassle free. The flat was as expected and roomy for two couples. Breakfast, tea and coffee was left in the fridge for us to use and made it very homely. I would recommend the flat as a place to stay if you are in London. We would use the flat again
Our stay at Mathias and Sally's flat couldn't have been better. The flat was quite large for a city apartment (I thought anyway), with plenty of room for a small family. The kitchen was well equiped, and we took advantage of the Tesco supermarket within about a 5min walk. The location beside Battersea Park was also excellent, with easy public transportation to the main tourist sites. Actually we even walked to the Westminster Abbey area and then back one day. Overall, we loved the apartment, and would definitely stay here again if we return to London.
We have spent a week at Sally's place, which was very convenient for us, close to our work, we just need to walk 5 mins in the beautiful Battersea Park. I could easily find buses just around the corner wherever I wanted to go in the city. We didn't get to meet with Mathias and Sally as they were abroad but the communication was always fast and easy. The house was clean and the beds were really comfortable, the only thing that could be difficult is the stairs up to the third floor if you are carrying a big luggage, but this is life and it has nothing to do with the hospitality of Sally and Mathias, overall I highly recommend the place, hopefully we'll be back!
