200 year-old Bank Barn and Farm Retreat in the Heart of Loudoun Wine Country!

Rent this private and cozy cabin apartment, sustainably converted from a 200 year-old bank barn, 7 minutes South of Leesburg on historic Gleedsville Road, 2.5 miles away from Stone Tower and Willowcroft Wineries and 1.5 miles away from Oatlands Plantation!

The space
This cozy, environmentally friendly cabin apartment is situated on a wildlife sanctuary that doubles as an award winning Eco-Green preschool Monday to Friday! The cabin is fully furnished with a clean country feel that is warm and inviting. As a farm experience, you’ll have the opportunity to observe our free-range hens in action. You are also welcome to interact with our ponies, alpacas and goats - over the fence of course as the goats are guaranteed to greet you with their horns! (We strongly recommend bringing Rubber boots if you plan on interacting with animals.)

The bedroom boasts a comfortable queen size tempurpedic bed, with organic cotton sheets, and hypoallergenic pillows. The bathroom has a rain shower, tank-less water heater, and organic toiletries. The living room has a big screen Samsung smart TV with Netflix preprogrammed, electric fireplace and comfortable sofa. There is a blueray dvd player, with an assortment of movies and a number of board games as well.

There is ample parking for two cars (one in front of the other) along the stone wall in front of the cottage and drive way turn around. Feel free to walk down the stone path to our stream, patio area or chicken yard adjacent to the cottage entrance.

Guest access
Guests have access to cabin apartment, patio, chicken yard, and the two parking spaces (one vehicle behind the other) along the stone wall in front of the barn.

The property is a Wildlife Habitat, so there is no fishing or disrupting or entering the stream.

Although we are a family friendly property and environmental Preschool Mon-Fri, we only accommodate children 12 and above. Guests and their children age of 12 and above are welcome to explore our tree forts, straw fort, slide, castle and other play areas. However, as these areas are designed for younger children, we kindly ask that parents supervise, guide and safeguard their children at all times. We also kindly ask that you have the courtesy of caring for these areas and report anything that is found broken or that might be a danger or inconvenience to future guests. While children are encouraged to explore all common areas, climbing on the stone castle or stone wall is strictly forbidden for safety concerns.

Other things to note
As this is a farm experience, please expect the occasional chicken, duck or turkey walking by your front door or visiting you while you relax on our patio! The sounds and smells of ponies, goats and/or lambs, alpacas or our donkey may also be present if you walk around the property or at night when we put the animals in, as our animal stalls are located on the West side of the barn, next to the cabin. There may also be the occasional snake and/or other critter as you are in the middle of an eco-friendly wildlife sanctuary. On this last note, because we are environmentally friendly, we do not use harsh chemicals or insecticides in and around the property, so you may see the occasional spider or cob-web! If you encounter an unwanted critter during your visit, just let us know and we’ll take care of it. We don’t use plastic trash bags either, so please put your waste in our trash cans or compost containers and we will sort at the conclusion of your stay. If your trash containers get too full, you are welcome to put things into out larger trash cans that are next to the garage.
The kitchen has the necessary utensils to prepare a nice breakfast/brunch. If you are expecting to make gourmet meals, please be advised we only provide the basic, we don’t advertise any extras as we don’t provide them.
Lastly, as we’re a preschool M-F, expect to hear or see children on the property if you check in before 5pm on Friday or starting at 8am on Monday!
