Listing highlights
In the mountains west of Denver
A mountain cabin about 4 miles from Idaho Springs, with hiking, rafting, and ski resorts nearby
Gas fireplace for mountain evenings
A gas fireplace to warm up after a day on the trails or the slopes
Clean, cozy, and worth a return trip
Guests call it peaceful, clean, and cozy, and many say they'd come back
This cabin is the perfect spot to rest after a day in the mountains! The main floor has a living room and kitchen. The upstairs loft has queen bed and a queen size pull-out sofa. The basement features a twin-sized bunk bed!
Due to our location, cell signal, WiFi and cable can be very slow or non-existent at times. We recommend planning to be off-the-grid in case this happens during your stay!
In order to fish at the pond next door, guests need to check in at the office during business hours.
The space
Enjoy 2 dedicated parking spots just steps away from the front door, and a second-story balcony. The back windows look over our family's reindeer pen!
Guest access
You have access to the entire cabin! You are also welcome to patronize the private trout fishing pond adjacent to the cabins during business hours, 9 AM to 5 PM every day. Please check in at the office to see pricing and get details!
Outdoor access is limited to the space directly in front of the cabin. The surrounding areas are private property. But there are tons of great hiking options just 8 miles up the road at Echo Lake! We recommend searching "Idaho Springs" on AllTrails.com to find options and ideas.
The creek runs behind the cabins but is not physically accessible. It runs on private land that we do not own and there is a steep bank preventing access. Please respect our neighbors and do not attempt to access the creek. But please do open the cabin windows and enjoy the soothing sounds it provides!
Other things to note
Please note that flies and bugs cannot be completely eliminated from the cabin. We do our best to mitigate them while cleaning and with natural deterrents (peppermint spray, cedar blocks, ect), but ultimately they are part of the mountain life.
No parties of any kind are allowed at our properties. A maximum of 6 people are allowed in the cabin due to fire code. We cannot grant exceptions to this, sorry!
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any early check-ins (check-in is 4:00) because of our cleaning schedule.
Although the cabin is located just 4 miles from town (along a fully paved road), cell phone reception is limited on the property. Cable television is provided! However, our remote location limits our access to internet, so the WiFi can be very slow or non-existent at times. We recommend planning for a relaxing mountain vacation without cell service or internet, just in case technology is not cooperating when you arrive!

Where you’ll be
Idaho Springs
Hot springs, historic gold mines, and alpine peaks give this small Colorado city a mountain setting grounded by mining-era streets.
From the host
Idaho Springs is nestled alongside I-70 in the mountains west of Denver. Originally a mining town, it now welcomes tourists to enjoy historic buildings and plentiful outdoor recreation opportunities. Clear Creek runs right through town, offering exciting rapids for rafters and plenty of action for anglers. Off-road trails, rock climbing, and countless hiking spots make it easy to enjoy the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Quick highway access allows visitors to get to and from the slopes quicker and with less frustrating traffic.
