Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Charming apartment in a 19th century Victorian house conserves its period architectural details in recently renovated comfort. Light streams into this en-suite guest residence through gracious windows. Beautiful cabinetry and bookcases offer some evening reading. Enjoy the marble bathroom and hardware floors and well-appointed kitchenette. A stone's throw from Porter Square, where bars, cafes, boutiques, and transportation options abound. Minutes to Harvard, MIT and Boston.

The space
Your own separate space:
This apartment is a separate space in our house, and has acoustic insulation to ensure as much privacy as possible. Concealed by a curtain, there is a sealed door in the bathroom, which must remain closed. The apartment has its own entry from the front porch so you may come and go as you please. There is a washer and dryer onsite for your convenience.

Comfort:
We have a Nest thermostat that controls the temperature. The timing is set for a typical schedule, but if you would like to adjust the temperature just turn the dial to a comfortable setting anytime you like.

Energy Efficiency:
We are proud to do our part for the environment: 100% percent of our home's electricity comes form renewable resources. Please remember to turn off lights and turn down heat/AC when you leave the apartment.

Shopping:
There are numerous boutiques in the Porter Square mall, a few minutes' walk down the street. Book stores, take-out, a mini Target, CVS pharmacy, Shaw's grocery store, and independent retail stores will let you make the most of your stay.

Cooking:
The apartment has ample space for meal prep and dining. Among the appliances you will find an oven, a microwave, an electric hotplate, a refrigerator/freezer, a toaster, an electric kettle, an espresso maker, and a drip coffee maker. For reasons of space, some of these appliances are stowed in the cabinets.
There are mixing bowls, pots, pans, and cookie/pizza sheets as well. There are also basic spices for your use, but we do not provide perishables such as butter or milk.

Working:
There is a dedicated built-in desk space in the main room. It has its own cabinet lamp, outlets and excellent streaming. (There is also a hard-wire Ethernet connection if you require it.) This space also has enough room for you to spread out documents if you need to get some work done.

Families:
If you have small children, you will be pleased to know that all outlets are tamper-proof. We have children too, so if you need something like a high chair or a pack n' play, don't hesitate to ask.

Guest access
Guests may access the entire space, which is separate from the rest of our house.

Other things to note
The wifi lock is a Nest-compatible Yale lock. Just hit the numeric code and confirm with the checkmark button, and it will unlock. If you notice that the lock's batteries are low, let us know so we can ensure the lock continues to work for your stay.

Parking:

1- Cambridge monthly street cleaning, make sure to look at the street signs before you park.
2- Our guest parking applies only to our neighborhood. Please check the back of the permit for the map.
