This was a great little place within close proximity to everything we wanted to do in the Blowing Rock area and we loved that it was pet friendly! We loved walking the trails at Moses Cone, Price Lake, and Trout Lake (and so did our dog!) which were all just a short drive from the house. We also loved how close we were to downtown for shopping and restaurants. It was a simple, clean cabin and a great home base to explore the area. It was also a great bonus to have wireless internet in the cabin. For two adults and a dog, it was just the perfect size!
This was my second visit to Contemporary Creek. I originally visited with a girlfriend for a weekend of biking and based on that trip knew I wanted to return with my husband to enjoy the cozy and romantic place together. The cottage is rustic but well equipped, clean, and in the perfect location for easy access to both Boone and Blowing Rock. Even on a rainy day, I'm happy to sit in the window seat with a cup of coffee enjoying all the little animals who visit the feeders. Sara communicated with us before, during, and after our visit to make sure all was well, and when our plans unexpectedly changed due to the weather, she was able to accommodate our request to stay one more night with very little fuss.
We enjoyed our stay here. It was described well and just what we were looking for.
What a wonderful retreat! My boyfriend and I stayed here for an April weekend and had an excellent time. The location is ideal-approx a ten minute drive to both Blowing Rock and Boone but nestled into a secluded hillside. There is a stream that flows around the backside of the cabin and its lovely to watch and listen to. Birds and squirrels joined us on the back deck and we truly feel engrossed in nature. The interior of the cabin is very nice as well. Everything is clean and cozy and honestly the pictures did not do it justice! We had everything we needed provided and felt very comfortable.
If you are looking to stay in this area I cannot imagine a better option. Highly recommended.
Also, on a side note, if you're looking to do some hiking we recommend the Profile Trail. It took us about six hours but the view from the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains made it all worth it!
I loved the cabin, especially the huge windows everywhere. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed. I was there for a personal retreat and appreciated the privacy and the nature setting. I spent a lot of time sitting on the deck listening to the creek and watching the birds. Very restful! I hope to return another time.
