Wake up to sunlight filtered through trees. Your partner hands you a hot coffee which you sip while strolling through the lychee orchard. The car is packed. It’s time to explore the nearby waterfalls and indulge in the fresh unfamiliar tastes of the farmers market. You come for a fresh shower. Unwinding with your afternoon tea and book, songs of the forest birds fade. Day turns to night. It’s time for wine with warmth from the fire pit under the ever bright stars. Welcome to ‘The Botanist’.

The space
The Botanist is located in Hilo, Hawaii, United States.

The eco-home is located at the center of a 10 acre property making it very private. It is surrounded by the rainforest and exotic fruit trees further adding to your privacy. The neighbors are scattered throughout large properties as well so don't expect to see a lot of people in the neighborhood.

More information
The Botanist is about a 10 minute drive from Hilo Ariport, 15 minutes from downtown, 15 minutes from the beach, and 40 minutes from Volcano National Park. There are several restaurants and grocery stores within a five minute drive but the better dinning is downtown. Many of the grocery/convenient stores are open til midnight so if you arrive into Hilo late you'll still have time to pick up snacks and supplies.

This spot is ideal for couples seeking a romantic getaway while surrounded by nature. The sofa bed also makes the place convenient if you have a child. It's also great for individuals who want to escape the busy city life for a relaxing laid back environment.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Why The Botanist is a wonderful tiny home and farm stay experience, there are a few things to consider to ensure it is a good fit for your stay.

(1) You may have weak to no cell reception while inside the home. The steel walls of the container blocks the cell signal. There is reception if you sit next to a window or outside. The is Starlink WIFI that provides internet access through out the house.

(2) This is a farm so roads can get muddy, the ground is uneven, and there are grass walkways instead of paved ones.

(3) The driveway is fairly long and not well lit. If you are arriving at night, follow the road arrows until you reach the house. The house lights will activate when you walk near it.

(4) There are mosquitoes, fire ants, and other insects on the property. They shouldn't interrupt your stay but organic bug spray is provided if you need it.

Guest access
Guests have free range to fully utilize every aspect of the house. The outdoor tub, patios, BBQ, fire pit. You will have an acre to walk around the grounds. This acre includes the lychee orchard (fruits during the summer) and grass field surrounding the house.

There is a kitchenette a your full disposal. It has a sink, microwave, electric kettle, Chemex coffee maker. There is no oven and no stove but you may use the outdoor BBQ as an alternative. The BBQ has a burner. There is also a mini-fridge.

My work: Plant Group Hawaii
Speaks English and Spanish
As a botanical explorer, I enjoy traveling the world looking for rare and new plant species. I conserve and grow these collectibles on my farm in Hawaii. You can book a stay in my new eco container home called 'The Botanist'. Wake up to the birds singing as you are surrounded by exotic tropical flowering plants.
