The space
Berry Lodge Farm enjoys a very rural location at the foot of the Malvern hills. We are very conveniently situated for the Three Counties Showground but recommend you travel by car as there are no pavements or public transport nearby.
The farm stands on 3 acres which guests are welcome to explore, subject to safety restrictions. You will find a small number of friendly sheep and some chickens, providing fresh eggs for your breakfast. The duckpond has occasional visitors and there is a small wooded area with a picnic table and chairs. There are various swings which guests are welcome to try out and even a trampoline if you are feeling energetic. Outside each lodge there is a small table and a couple of chairs where you can enjoy the fresh air with a glass of wine or cup of coffee.
Breakfast provisions are included in the price. We provide boxed cereals, individual jam/marmalade portions, fresh eggs, bread, butter, juice, milk and, of course, tea and coffee.
There are 2 lodges with very similar facilities in The Dairy; both accessed from a shared lobby but otherwise completely separate with their own locked door. Outside areas are shared with other guests and residents. Lodge 2 (which you are currently viewing) has a large walk-in shower whereas Lodge 1 has a bath with shower over. Lodge 2 is slightly larger and very slightly more expensive. You will find both Lodges listed on Airbnb. Please take care to specify the correct number of guests when booking as we do charge more for double occupancy.
Each lodge has 2 single beds which can be configured as twin singles or linked to make a 6ft double bed. Double occupancy guests can choose either configuration - just tell us your preference. Note that Airbnb have interpreted this as 3 beds but it is actually EITHER 2 singles OR 1 double. Please checkout the floorplan in Additional Photos.
A travel cot and highchair are available if requested in advance (no extra charge) and there is a washing machine in our laundry room which can be used for a small additional charge. Please note there is an electric hob and a Combi Convection/Grill/Microwave but no traditional oven and there is a larder fridge but no freezer. Items (eg icepacks) may be kept in a freezer in the laundry room on request.
The Hot Tub is an optional extra and located in a walled garden to the front of the farmhouse. There is an additional cost (£22 for 1st session and £20 for any subsequent sessions. Optionally you may hire a couple of towelling robes and flipflops for a further £5) There is no specific time limit on a session - stay in until you turn wrinkly! There is a booking system as there is only 1 tub and we have 2 guest lodges. You will have exclusive use for the session you have booked.
If this is something that interests you it is useful to know before you arrive to ensure the tub is at the right temperature.
Guest access
The Dairy is a standalone building which houses 2 guest lodges and a laundry. The front door leads to a small shared lobby from which each lodge is separately accessed via its own locked door. You have full and exclusive use of the entire space beyond the locked door but the lobby and outdoor areas are shared with other guests, our tenants in The Coach House and your hosts in The Farmhouse. The laundry is a separate room on the end of The Dairy with its own front door.
The lodges overlook a large courtyard with carport where there is ample space for parking. We can accommodate vans and trailers.
Beyond the courtyard there are a couple of paddocks, a duckpond and a small area of woodland. There are a couple of swings (suitable for adults!), picnic table in the wood and even a trampoline if you are feeling energetic. Guests are welcome to enjoy the surroundings, at their own risk. Our animals are generally friendly and will usually come to the fence to greet you, although please check with us before offering them food. Please check before booking if you are bringing an animal with you. Please ensure children and dogs are supervised to avoid any accidents as the pond is not fenced off.
For a small additional charge you may use the washing machine which is located in the laundry.
Other things to note
Double occupancy guests have a choice of twin or super-king size bed configuration. Just let us know your preference in advance and ensure you specify the correct number of guests when booking.
A single bed is the default option for single occupancy guests. If single occupancy guests wish to have the double bed this is available but there is a supplement to pay - please enquire when booking.
