Lives in Chewelah, Washington
We decided to leave the big city in 2006 and took a big leap of faith by moving to a rural area in a new state, where we had no job, no family, no friends. It turned out to be the best decision we ever made as we found unsurpassed joy in Chewelah and Northeast Washington.
One of the first things we did was decide to build a guest cabin so friends and family could be enticed to make the journey to visit. We, along with Shelly's dad Bill, did most of the construction of the cabin but many friends and family also had a hand in its creation. We are so pleased to be able to share it with guests.
We both love the outdoors and all of the amazing outdoor recreation opportunities to be found here in Northeast Washington. We love camping, kayaking and hiking, and are happy to point guests toward some excellent adventures.
Shelly spent more than 25 years training horses professionally, and still keeps two horses on the property. We both love the wonderful feeling of eating food we grew, so we keep a large garden where the summer star is the row of delicious raspberries that ripen in July.
One of the best things about hosting guests from all over is that by sharing the beauty and unique things to be found in our neck of the woods, we are constantly reminded just how special a place it is.
