Where you’ll be

Córdoba, Andalucía, Spain

The Jewish Quarter is an area of the city of Córdoba where Jews lived from the 10th century to the 15th century.
In the Middle Ages, three cultures, Christian, Arab, and Jewish, coexisted in the neighborhood, which had a peaceful and tolerant atmosphere.
Great philosophers, poets, and men of science were born here, who were protected by the patrons of the Umayyad court. Maimonides and Averroes were born in this neighborhood.
I can assure you that walking through the Jewish Quarter is a real pleasure. It's a labyrinth of hilly, narrow streets that are full of mystery and enchantment. Here you can still appreciate the city's era of splendor.
Today, in the Jewish Quarter, you can enjoy its taverns and restaurants as well as the typical dishes of the city, with great Arab and Jewish influence. I invite you to try the delicious Cordovan salmorejo, flamenquín, the delicious eggplants with cane honey or the cohollitos with garlic.
