The space
Mt. Baker Getaways presents
The lodge is called the "Baker Haus" in honor of its Bavarian roots. Our great grandfather Herman Steiner settled in Glacier at the turn of the century from Bavarian Germany.
Bedroom one: 2 queen beds (sleeps 4)
Bedroom two: 1 king bed (sleeps 2)
Bedroom three: 2 king beds (sleeps 4)
Bedroom four: 1 full bed (sleeps 2 open ceiling)
Bedroom five: 1 queen and 1 twin (sleeps 3)
Bedroom six: 1 full and 4 twins (sleeps 6 open loft)
Having 6 bedrooms, this lodge is the ideal place for a vacation with the whole family, a large group of friends, ladies or guys weekend. Events like, youth groups, small weddings or corporate retreats may not be booked through the Airbnb platform.
Downstairs bedroom has two Queen-size beds providing enough space for 6 people to sleep comfortably. Upstairs bedroom one has a queen and twin bed. Additional upstairs bedroom has two King beds.
One of the rooms and probably the favorite of the heads of the family has a King-size bed, another one has a comfy double bed, and the last one, perfect for the kids and families or friends, has 1 double bed and 4 twin beds, so the whole place can host up to 16+ guests. All of our linens and pillows are of the best quality, so you can truly relax and feel pampered.
Two full bathrooms are also available, and we include toiletries such as soap and shampoo, so you don’t have to worry about packing those things. One of the greatest aspects of this lodge is that being so large, it has two living areas, one it’s special to just sit around and share along with your loved ones, watching a good movie in front of the TV, or just enjoying a nice cup of hot cocoa in front of the gas fireplace or playing games at the farm table.
The lower game room features a large poker table for you to sit with all the kids and play board games or enjoy a poker game, pop-a-shot, foosball, dart board and pool table. The game room as features air conditioning on those hot summer days.
The kitchen, big and spacious, is equipped with everything you’ll need to cook from the simplest to the most elaborate meals, depending on your mood. It has a stove and oven, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, microwave, large refrigerator, dishwasher, as well as all the utensils, kitchenware and tableware for that perfect meal.
Another amazing aspect of the lodge is that it is surrounded by decks, so you can have a cozy spot to enjoy your morning coffee while contemplating the beautiful nature in front of you, and why not, even spot some of the wildlife of the area.
There is also an outdoor firepit area.
Events: We do not allow events such as Wedding's, family reunion's, retirement parties, corporate retreats to be booked through the Airbnb platform per their party and event policy. These events need to be booked through our website Mt Baker Getaways at an additional charge.
* NOTE: These cabins, while offering deluxe accommodations, are in a heavily wooded area. Occasionally, guests may experience weather conditions or power outages that are out of the host's control. The hosts will do all they can to assist but are not responsible for issues beyond their control. Our owners make every effort to keep the hot tubs functioning perfectly, as they are the most requested amenity. However, mechanical problems and weather may occur that cannot be resolved quickly in this remote area and no refunds are made if this occurs, per the terms of our rental agreement. We try to communicate this prior to your arrival if possible. Please enjoy the many other amenities, beautiful surroundings and area adventures during your stay.
Guest access
You will have full access to the almost 4,000 sq ft lodge. Traveling with a big group can be a little bit tricky with all the luggage, however, by staying here you don’t have to worry about packing too much, instead, you can pack light and wash your clothes here as one of the bathrooms have a washer and dryer available for you to use.
In the mood for a nice piece of steak or some burgers for the whole gang? The outdoor area has a nice barbecue available for your use. This lodge is perfect both for the winter and the warm days, with both air conditioning in the game room and lower bedroom and heating and gas fireplace.
And, don’t worry about being in the middle of the forest and not having signal, as the cabin has great WIFI. Finally, don’t forget to enjoy a relaxing bath in the hot tub or a long steam in the sauna.
Other things to note
Lodge is self check-in through Airbnb app. We recommend checking in 30 minutes prior to arrival to ensure cell service.
Best of all is that this is the only lodge within a 5-minute walk to town.
Also, during ski season, you don’t need to drive to Mt Baker if you want to grab the local Baker Bus up to the mountaintop daily, it picks up at Grahams store at 8 a.m. and is just a 5 minute walk from Baker Haus. Head to Bakerbus.org for more information
Please note we have a/c in the game room and loft. It is not the entire home.
When AC is on all doors need to remain closed to ensure units continue working properly. Leaving windows or doors open can result in the AC unit over heating and damaging the units.
*Please keep in mind that the lodge is located in a very rural area with no cell service. The lodge offers wifi; however there is only one carrier and it is not dependable. We have a phone in the lodge and wifi Chair 9 (restaurant down the way)**
