This gorgeous, original stone house is older than America herself! Built in 1770, Climbers Run has been tastefully updated, while still maintaining the integrity and beauty of the old structure as well as unique, original features. If you’re traveling with family or in a group, this 4000sf home and 4.5 acres of land is perfect for everyone to gather inside and out! If you want to get to town, downtown Lancaster is only a 20 minute drive!

The space
A stay at this house offers you the opportunity to experience the history and quiet, peaceful lifestyle that many visitors to Lancaster County only get to appreciate from a distance. This incredible house was built by one of the original settlers who made his living milling wheat in the stone mill next door. We have many old, original documents, deeds, photographs, and stories passed down through the generations of this historic property that will be available in the house for those guests that have interest.

Your stay in this home includes an authentic, Amish-made shoofly pie, Lancaster County Coffee Roasters coffee, luxury linens and towels, s’more ingredients (supplied from September 1st-December 31st), and so much more!

This home is fully equipped to comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. If you are interested in booking for a group larger than 10, please contact me prior to booking with the number of guests. These requests will be approved on a case by case basis.

We are proud to offer this quiet escape just miles from downtown Lancaster and Central Market, Sight & Sound Theatre, Rockvale & Tanger Outlets, the historic Strasburg Railroad, and all the rest of Lancaster County's most popular tourist attractions!

We are pleased to offer this house as “Boutique Style”, meaning that the home is largely decorated with handmade artwork and home decor items from local artist and artisans. These items are available for sale exclusively to our guests, directly out of the house! Purchase souvenirs that you love out of the house, or simply enjoy vacationing in a place decorated with local Lancaster County talent.

Additional services offered:

Grocery service: you select and pay for your groceries online. We pick them up at the grocery store and put them away in the house. You arrive to a home stocked with all the groceries you need and chose! Contact me either before booking, or after, to utilize this service. Cost: $25 service fee

Special occasion decorating service: celebrating a birthday, anniversary, graduation, wedding, or other occasion? We will decorate the home with balloons, flowers, cake, streamers, whatever you want! We will work closely with you to make sure you’re getting what you want, and you get to surprise your guest of honor by checking-in to a house that’s already decorated! Cost: cost of products plus a $50 service fee

This home is located in rural Lancaster county where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the country, the relaxing sound of the water from the stream, and fantastic stargazing. Yet we are still only a short distance from many area attractions: 10 minutes to the Conestoga Historical Society, 20 minutes to Strasburg and the Strasburg railroad, 20 minutes to the outlets, 20 minutes to Lancaster City (including Central Market, the Convention Center, and the Barnstormers stadium), 25 minutes to Sight and Sound, 30 minutes to the popular PA Dutch towns of Intercourse, Blue Ball, Bird-In-Hand, and Paradise, 30 minutes to Root’s Farmers Market, 60 minutes to Hershey/Hershey Park, 60 minutes to Longwood Gardens. We are also only minutes from lots of hiking trails, campgrounds, and the Enola Low Grade Trail (formerly a railroad track that is now a lovely place to take a walk or ride bicycles).

Please note that hosts will require access to the home twice per day (morning and evening) to tend to the coal stove during cold months.
