Description
Description

The space

This 1 bedroom apartment is on the ground floor of a 2 story building. Located on the corner of the Ala Wai Blvd & the edge of Waikiki, getting in & out is what makes it a great location. The beach is a 10 minute walk through the park. This unit was previously rented out to long term tenants, but since has been slowly getting upgraded. The stay includes surf lessons + surfboards on Waikiki Beach. Comes with free waves if you can swim.

Guest access

Fully furnished, including free Wi-Fi and cable provided by DirecTV. Includes all extra channels including over 50+ movie channels to watch on a 42" HDTV. Coin operated dryer and washer in the back of the building. Private smoking area outside, no smoking tobacco indoors. Bus stop across the street. Stores and restaurants within a few minutes walking.

Interaction with guests

I'm readily available on a daily basis since I stay on the other end of the property. Although I live in the building, I can't say I'll go out of my way to check on you everyday. Hopefully you can swim so you can take of advantage of the perks when you're not at home. I'm a property manager, not a people manager. Since I live alongside, I tend to mind my own business. I'll show you how to surf in the day, but I don't think you can afford me as your personal butler. I can tell you about some good hikes or other beaches. I'm around, so if you need anything, just ask.

The neighborhood

I usually suggest looking up a current pic of Waikiki. This building is along the Ala Wai Canal, which can be kind of noisy due to traffic, sirens, etc..This neighborhood is not that secluded area that you saw on the Travel Channel. The neighbors have band practice once a week. If you've ever stayed in the heart of a city, then you know what to expect.

Getting around

There's a bus stop across the street and down the street. Cabs take 5 minutes to arrive, about 10 to wave down.

Other things to note

PARKING: $10 a day onsite available by reservations, spaces are very limited here on the property and in all of Waikiki.
Free street parking weekdays except for 2 hours at 630am and 330pm
Paid parking is around $25 a day in the nearby lots.
Free parking on the weekends starting at 5:30pm on Friday (almost full by 5:45pm).
Please read the posted signs, I see cars towed everyday

Please inquire about surf lessons Don't wait until the end of your trip we don't know what the waves/weather might do.

This includes waves. As long as you can swim, you are guaranteed to surf (conditions apply; like you're available to surf, your schedule isn't full, there are waves to surf on) W30610476-01

House Rules
House Rules

No pets. No smoking tobacco indoors, seating areas available outside to smoke or hang out. House rules? You're old enough. This is not a hotel. I pay for, repair, replace, and install everything myself. As long as you respect the unit, and are friendly to your neighbors, I really don't care what you do (not including prostitution, dealing, domestics, etc.) Please take off your shoes inside, as it's customary here in Hawaii.

Hi, I've been a property manager for years, but it's been mostly with long term tenants. I've recently been renovating the units to accommodate short term, it's been a time consuming and expensive process. Managing rentals is my second job, my day job is on Waikiki Beach teaching surfing for over 15 years. I realize the units are far from modern, and there are some details that could use a little attention. All of the rentals are totally clean, I practically do all of the cleaning myself. What separates this vacation rental from the rest? I'm the only property manager in Waikiki who's certified & licensed by the State of Hawaii to teach surfing. I have my CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding credentials certified by the Red Cross. I've been updating the places little by little, as I do all of the work myself. I'll do my best to make sure you're comfortable during your stay. This place is considered a plus if you want to learn how to surf! The only requirement is you must be able to swim. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Aloha!
