My work: P & J Oyster Co., Inc.
Lives in New Orleans, Louisiana
I'm a 5th generation New Orleanian, my family migrated from Trabia, Sicily in 1857 to New Orleans as a merchant of seafood and other fruits and vegetables through the Mississippi River. My Grandfather worked for United Fruit Co. and asked my Grandmother to marry him, her father said he couldn't marry her until he made more money. His solution was to acquire a job working his way into the oyster distribution business, after some time he finally proved he was worthy of my Grandmother's hand and worked his way into being a full partner and that's how P & J Oyster house became a family business. We are now in the 5th generation of our family run business and the oldest oyster processors in the United States. Today I run the business with my brother Sal, and son Blake Sunseri. We're excited to welcome guests to our family business to share some of the rich culture and history the city has to offer.
