My family and I had a really great time in Giacomo's house : the view, the pool, the terrasse and rooms... Everything was perfect to enjoy and visit the Tuscany area (Firenze, Pisa, Siena...). Giacomo was full of good advices and very attentive to our needs. Thanks again !
The host did try to make us feel welcome. The accommodations are not suitable for older (over 50) people or children if you want to use the pool as the distance and climb is quite arduous. It would be nice to have direct access to an eating area outdoors as the kitchen was dark and musty and not conducive to eating there. The driveway is also difficult as it is very steep and if the gate is shut one is fearful of rolling downhill when trying to access parking. As well, the electricity went out several times and we were told that it was because everyone had their lights on.
Barbara and her girlfriend were both were snobbish and definitely were not in the right place. They were not friendly with us and other guests. The house receives children and over 50 all the time and the pool is the best part of the house on top of the hill with the best view.
We had a big family while Barbara was there and they carried all sorts of extra equipment with them, this made the electricity go down for a total of 2 minutes 2 times [not several times]. Bad experience from both sides, it happens. The good thing is that we receive a lot of wonderful people and we will always try to improve our service! Barbara would better book a 5 star hotel next time!
I can't recommend Giacomo's old-stone house highly enough!
I personally travelled around Tuscany but my family used the used the old stone house to chill out and enjoy the views and locals, and most importantly the pool. Everyone was most welcoming and the property itself is filled with beautiful artwork and photography. The local village is only a 5 minute walk away and the local store provides everything one might need for a length stay (my family stayed for two weeks).
Giocomo and Rolly leave you to your own devices and I would certainly describe the property as communal but homely. Each bedroom should be more than sufficient for any person, with air-con and well sized bathrooms.
The one piece of advise I would give is to try your best to hire your own car. Giacomo and Rolly were incredibly helpful by providing transport to and from the local train station (Empoli) but Tuscany is definitely an area where you need your own transport of sorts, but you live and you learn!
Overall, top marks and will definitely be back!!
Remarkable place to stay! The hosts welcomed us with open arms. Their kindness and home was beautiful in every way. I miss the views of this Tuscan stone house, the sound of the church bells, the friendliness of the village people, the delicious food, everything! It offered all the tick marks for us. Thank you Giacomo and Rolly.
Room was good. Lounge was only place Wi-Fi worked, which was restricting. It was a bit dark. Lots of steps and the road in was precarious for the unaware
Our guest Pam did not read the house rules, we have chosen to have wi fi available only in the lounge because we prefer people communicate to each other and not to sit in front of their uploads! It is a choice, if she found that restricting probably our house was not the one to choose! Tuscan countryside is well known for narrow roads in the hills and lots of terraces with olive trees and vineyards, that's why we have steps. The house is full of light, probably she was there on a bad dark day. I would suggest to read house rules before you book! Thanks
Schade!

We had a very great stay at Giacomo's place. Though we didn't see the host other than when we arrived and left after 3 days, we were welcomed properly and we've been shown the villa facilities. We had access to a pool, a kitchen, a living room, a private bathroom with shower, a patio and all we needed to enjoy a great stay. The view is stunning and you can enjoy the place to relax, have a drink and enjoy the pool. Keep in mind the the wifi is only available in the living room. Also, we think it would be preferable for you to look for the place during day time. Roads are very tights and sometimes steep. We had a little difficulty to find the place (even with Giacomo's indications) since we were not used to drive in Tuscany. But once we found it, we immediately fell in love with the place. We where 2 adults with no children.
