This is how an AirBnb experience should be - and as it was always intended - like staying at a friends house. Raffaele "get's it".
He knows how and what is needed for a "travelling friend". Thoughtful, empathetic and casual. (Which makes all those "complaints" about bath curtains and bedroom locks ridiculous. If they are important then go to a B&B and pay accordingly).
It's all about trust and reputation. We show trust as travellers entering someones home, they gain in reputation accordingly. This worked for me completely andI will return.
Rafaele was really great and conscientious about our stay going well. He was attentive and have us many great suggestions. The rooms were very well decorated with plenty of space. As we were a family of 4 with two small children, we had to rent both rooms, but we would have preferred (and they were plenty large) to have been in the same room with our children under 10. Also, do not underestimate the complexity of the web of tiny streets inside the Lucca walls. Rafaele had to come find us the night we arrived due to the construction going on several streets, despite our multiple GPS devices.
Loved Raffael's home. He was the perfect host. Greeted us with coffee/wine and then left us pretty much on our own. The place is super conveniently located, large, well decorated and spotless. Highly recommend.
Raffaele is an excellent host and his house and rooms are really beautifully designed, clean, and everything you could hope for in a stay in a small town in Italy. The room and bathroom were both very big and had everything you'd need as far as amenities. Raffaele gave us a map and showed us all the places to go and even figured out a way to get me a key in 10 minutes when I locked myself out and he was away--he's the best!
We had a great fews days in this apartment, great location clean and tidy and raffele gave us plenty of information about the area and which restaurants to use.
If you are ever in lucca stay here

Raffaele was a warm and gracious host. This was my first experience of air bnb, so it was a great relief to find that Raffaele was reliable and extremely helpful. (I was a little confused with the train time table from Pisa to Lucca and he made sure we were on the correct train). The room, bathroom and common room are spacious and beautifully decorated. If you have an eye for elegant fixtures they are here in abundance- from the chandelier on the silver table to the antique table and wardrobe. The place is part of an old palazzo, beautiful tiles and high ceilings, it is truly exceptional. He suggested a great restaurant called PEC ( an acronym) and was happy to respond to all my questions. He comes highly recommended. .
Beautiful & clean room. Rafaello recommended a fantastic restaurant, definetely worth going there!
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The accommodation was incredible! Right in the heart of the old town of Lucca, the location could not have been better. Lucca is a town full of beuaty and culture, and definitely a must-see. Raffaele's apartment is quite unique - really modern and artistic, and very stylish. The rooms very incredibly spacious, and we had a very comfortable stay. Thank you, Raffaele!
Raffaele was very helpful and took good care of me and my cousin. The room was nice and well located in Lucca. I absolutely recommend this place!
