Situated in the beautiful Peak District just a 5 minute drive (or an hour walk) from the tourist town of Buxton, this large luxury 5 bedroom cottage has unrestricted views of the surrounding countryside and is perfect for a relaxing getaway from everyday life.

Built with all the mod cons such as underfloor heating, modern heating systems, fast Wifi Broadband access; with huge lounge, modern kitchen and bathrooms, this is a cosy retreat even in winter. Hot Tub hire available at extra cost.

The space

Thirkelow cottage and studio is a flexible space that can be modified to perfectly suit your family or group. All bedroom setups can be changed and the large studio space can be used as a family lounge and entertainment area, left empty for indoor exercise space or setup in a variety of configurations for arts/crafts/writing courses or conferencing with up to 12 tables and 12 chairs (configuration other than family lounge at extra cost, contact us for prices).

Upstairs are 4 bedrooms all with ensuite, and downstairs is an accessible bedroom with an accessible ensuite shower room. All five bedrooms can be set up with a superking double bed or two full-size single beds. The two larger bedrooms also have a roll out single bed, which are slightly shorter single beds (though still suitable for smaller adults), giving 12 beds in total. There are also two travel cots available, or you can bring your own. There are two sofa beds available downstairs to bring the total to 14 adults or children.

The bedroom layout is flexible so let us know how you want the rooms set up to best suit your group. You could have 5 double rooms with superking beds, or 12 single beds.

We have just completed the dedicated games room, which contains a full size Pool table which converts to full size Table Tennis, as well as kids air hockey and table football.

Also downstairs is a lounge with large TV and Freesat, and a large kitchen diner which can seat up to 16 people at one table, or 6-8 on two separate tables if you want the kids a bit further away!

A hot tub can be installed for your stay at extra cost, via a 3rd party service (subject to availability), contact us for prices.

Outside is free off road parking for at least 6 cars and automatic security lights on the entrance side. On the opposite side of the building are views over the peak district with outdoor space for relaxing and large private grassed and hill areas. Thirkelow Cottage is situated in a popular walking area and is close to many footpaths and walking routes.

Fast unlimited Wireless broadband internet has been installed and is included for all visitors. All video streaming services can be used, including BBC iPlayer, channel 4 and channel 5 streaming services directly from our large screen smart TVs, or bring your own devices to use your own streaming services, browse the internet or use other internet services.

There is a BBQ area on the rear patio, and a brick structure and rack are provided to position disposable BBQs safely. A party-size disposable BBQ can be provided if required or bring your own. A fire pit is also provided, bring your own wood.
