The room makes for a good budget place in jogja. This room is on the street side of the house so it was a little noisy at night and in the morning, but nothing unbearable. Andrew was also very helpful; he picked us up from the train station and provided us with a SIM card. Because we were mainly using is as a jumping off point for prambanan and borobudur, it wasn't the easiest location to stay in if you want to take public transportation (it's south of the cities and the temples are northeast and northwest of the city respectively), but the street itself is really nice with cafes and restaurants. Andrew runs tours, which is really convenient if you're interested. But it also made it a little weird when we mentioned that we might take a tour with someone else that a friend of mine had recommended. All in all it was a nice place to stay for a few nights, and it's especially good for those who have a bit more time to explore the area.

I had such a wonderful time here! Shinta is an amazing host. Extremely helpful and informative! She also makes one of the tastiest and foamiest lattes ever! The room was very comfortable and clean! Amazing value for the price. My room was nearest to the street, but I am a city girl so I liked the noise, but if not there are rooms further back. There was a nice little kitchen but the best was to hang out front of the cafe. Great experience. Would love to come back

The location was difficult to find as we had a driver from outside the area, however once we were able to contact the host we were able to find the location. There's no hot water and the bathrooms could have been cleaner, the location however was perfect since there's many travel agencies to the temples and other day trips. If cleanliness is very important, then I'd recommend staying elsewhere- if you're ok seeing a few bugs and no ac then you can stay here.

Andy and Shinta were amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We enjoyed so many great conversations and received the best tour of the city's food and scenery. I'm sure we avoided scams plenty as a result of their hospitality. They know so much about the country and about living there and were eager to help us plan the rest of our trip. I suggest you toss out your Lonely Planet and just spend a couple days here. Be sure to keep your itinerary open as I'm sure it will change by the time you leave. You likely will end up having an experience far better than anything you'd plan off a backpackers' blog.

Andy was an absolute legend. We went to Jogya with a really lose plan of how to spend our time in Indo and he helped up map our a trip perfectly. I highly reccomend booking trips with him or just listening to any advice he has to give. Our trip to Ijen, which we booked through him, was amazing. The room was perfect for us, and the beds were comfortable which was a plus! The shop is really centrally located to restaurants, bars, cafe and just about anything you need. Plus Andy can make a mean ice coffee.
