The space
Our home is a private residence on the top of a mountain in an Arkansas State Park, soaring 1,350 feet above the Arkansas River Valley. Sunrise Point, where Razorback Ridge is located, is at the SE end of the mountain. As the name implies, we are the lookout point for spectacular sunrises and stunning views of the valley below, with bluffs both to the East and South.

The front of our main house is a launching spot for hang gliding. So, we welcome you to use our home if it is convenient for you in your flights or camping.

Monument bike trails are rated the best in Arkansas, and one of the bike trails starts right across from our home, as does one of the hiking trails.

Razorback Ridge is our tiny cabin in back of our Main Cabin. We use it as our office, laundry area, arts and crafts studio and extra guest space. It is a novelty room - decorated with every Razorback item imaginable.

The tiny cabin is fully furnished with serveware, bedding, window a/c and portable heaters, drip electric as well as a Keurig coffee maker, washer/dryer, kitchen sink, hot and cold water, dorm (small) refrigerator, microwave, tv with cable, office supplies including desk and printer, artist's drafting table, outdoor dining table and fire pit . . . lots of amenities. . . .

BUT the inside is very small. The size is 12 x 20 feet. Couples have enjoyed RR so far - we have all 5-star ratings - but please understand clearly that it is extremely a cozy for two. We don't want anyone disappointed that the room and bed are not larger.

Our Main Cabin is available for rental via Airbnb for larger groups or for a couple that would prefer more space.

For those who prefer an outdoor experience, we offer Ozark Trails dome tents (one which sleeps six; one which sleeps three), sleeping bags, air mattresses, pumps, flashlights, bug spray, barbeque grills, fire pit, picnic tables, Pottery Barn chaise lounges as well as portable folding chairs, backpacks, water bottles . . . total camping essentials. You just show up - and all the camping gear is here, ready and waiting for you. We even provide long forks for toasting s’mores!

Razorback Ridge is perfect for parents who prefer to stay inside with A/C and Internet, while watching their children camp nearby - (As a single mom, that was me!)

The selling points for our cabins are definitely the view, the view and the view. The location, Mount Nebo State Park amenities (such as pool, tennis courts, baseball field, playgrounds, nature classes, Visitors center with bike rentals, ice and firewood. . .), easy access to both hiking and biking trails (immediately off our side yard) make the properties special. For a view of our cabin and valley below, go to www.vimeo.com and search "nebo drone 2015". Several videos of hang gliding off our bluff are available.

Guest access
As described above, Razorback Ridge has everything including the kitchen sink, BUT you will need to SHARE a bathroom with the main cabin or alternatively, use the park facilities. Plans are underway to install an outdoor shower next season, but for now, RR guests share Main Cabin bathroom and full kitchen - 22 steps away porch-to-porch. (see pics). If sharing is a concern for you, please ask me ahead of time, and I am happy to let you know if the Main Cabin is booked the same time you want to reserve RR.

Mount Nebo State Park offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, playgrounds, baseball field, pavilion for parties, public showers, 14 miles of hiking trails, bike rentals and new, multi-levels of difficulty bike trails, a visitor's center and gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs, drinks, ice, firewood . . .

Three other Arkansas state parks are nearby: Petit Jean, Lake Dardanelle and Mount Magazine. Holla Bend Wildlife Reserve, Big Piney (river rafting), Arkansas wine country, fishing and peach pickin‘ are 15 minutes to an hour away.

Full details are available at: www.arkansasstateparks.com/parks/mount-nebo-state-park and www.arvtripeaks.com.

Other things to note
Nearby Russellville is home to Arkansas Tech. Since it is a college town, there are activities throughout the year that draw tourists and locals alike: ballooning, art walks, concerts, plays, music festivals, sports and other special events.

The Mount Nebo Visitors Center is a great source of information about the region as well as calendar of events for Mount Nebo. 479.229.3655.

Park Interpreters conduct nature programs and guided tours.

Mount Nebo Sunday School is held at the Pavilion from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Visitors are welcome. Google for times.

We hold a 4th of July bike parade each year. Bike rentals are available at the Visitors' Center.

The Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Chicken Fry mid-August, drawing families and politicians from across the state.

Also, with the advent of the new biking trails, there are bike races, exhibits and special events throughout the year.

Fall colors normally peak from mid October to early November.

These events may make it more difficult to book state facilities and private homes - lower availability and increased prices, so please be aware of this and plan accordingly. Off season rates can be dramatically discounted in comparison .

Our cabins were completely closed during 2020, and now that our country is recovering from Covid, we are cautiously booking our cabins only 3 months in advance. if you have a special request for dates that are blocked out side this window, you are welcome to email me for information about reserving those times. Thank you very much.

Neighborhood highlights

Dardanelle is the small town at the base of Mount Nebo. Locally, the best grocery shopping is at Walmart (1172 N State Hwy 7), and my favorite shopping for gifts (china, Razorback, houseware and personal items) is Millyn’s (124 S Front Street).

The nearby, much larger town of Russellville nearby has myriad choices of restaurants. My favorite is Pasta Grill on Main Street or across the street, The Old Bank Sports Grill (220 W Main Street). For Japanese and/or sushi: Umami (304 N Elmira), For BBQ: Fat Daddy’s (104 N Denver), for hamburgers and fried pies: Felton's Whataburger. Stoby’s, Brick Oven Pizza, Ruby Tuesday, Chili's and Cracker Barrel are local chain eateries.

We provide a long list of ‘local eats’, contact information and reviews in a notebook in the Main Cabin - kitchen cabinet by the back door, bottom shelf.

Also there are brochures and books, tour guides and trail maps for surrounding attractions.
