The space
*WATERFRONT OASIS* - This magical two story lake home sits on 3 city lots with all the modern amenities! Nestled on picturesque Park Point is your charming 1899 cottage within a two-minute walk to the majestic Lake Superior, a five minute ride to the famous Aerial Lift Bridge, Canal Park and Downtown with its unique breweries and restaurants. This home has all the vibes of summer camp…but for grown-ups and kids alike! A gas fireplace keeps you cozy in the winter and your private dock keeps you happy in the summer. It blends rustic charm with the comforts of home, our cottage is equal parts relaxing and fun! Take an early morning stroll and enjoy the sunrise on the beach and end your day on the deck with your loved ones watching the sunset.

*BEDS/BATHS* The home sleeps up to 7 people with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms are on the second level, each with a queen bed, closet/walls/ceiling with knotty pine and high ceilings with a fan. Also, on the second floor is a ‘bonus room’ with a daybed, Smart TV, and knotty pine on the walls with a low ceiling (this room does not have heat or air conditioning). The master bedroom is on the main level with a king bed and a memory foam topper, long velvet bench with storage, and a closet. Both bathrooms are on the main level and next to one another. The larger bathroom features a deep cast-iron tub, the smaller bathroom includes a shower/tub.

* INDOOR AMENITIES* On the main level you will find the dining room off the kitchen with large dining room table that seats 8 comfortably; kitchen with large screen Smart TV and cable, Wi-Fi Bluetooth sound bar, love seat, island for gathering, wine cooler, and gas fireplace; living room with fireplace and new furniture; den with shelves of books and local artifacts, large window, 2 new reading chairs with throw blankets; complimentary secure high-speed Wi-Fi; central air conditioning and heat. Although there is a wood burning fireplace in the living room, we ask that guests do not use it and instead, use the gas fireplace in the kitchen overlooking the bay.

*WHAT’S INCLUDED* The home is fully stocked and ready for your arrival! Enjoy cooking in the kitchen with the wall of windows that overlook Superior Bay with new stainless-steel kitchen appliances. All towels, kitchen items, spices, oil/vinegar, coffee/tea, cookware, blender, mixer, waffle maker, toaster, coffee maker, tea pot, wine cooler, ice maker in freezer, rice maker, crock pot, roasting pans, serving platters, plates/cups/flatware, dishwasher & detergent, gas BBQ & tools, linens, throw blankets, soaps, shampoo/conditioner are provided. For the little ones, we have beach toys, books, baby monitor, porta crib, kids dishes, and highchair. Bring your clothes, personal toiletries and food – everything else is here for you!

*CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE* Lake Superior and Superior Bay surround you on this sandbar island connected to Canal Park by the Aerial Lift Bridge. Park Point offers many wonderful activities and we are prepared to help you enjoy it all with a canoe, small kayak, two adult & two children's life vests, beach chairs, umbrella, towels, cooler, picnic basket, and kids beach toys. Your private dock includes two Adirondack chairs and table/umbrella.

There is a boat launch 2 miles away at the end of Park Point if you wish to bring your boat and fishing gear.

*OUTDOOR AMENITIES* The deck features bench seating and a high-top table with 2 chairs just 15 feet from Superior Bay, gas grill, 2 hammocks, a swing next to the bay, and grassy areas for outdoor games. The small beach area has two Adirondack chairs and a bench.

A canoe and small kayak are available for guests to use on calm days. We recommend that guests stay very close to the shore and only go out during the summer when the lake is as smooth as glass. Lake Superior waves and currents can be fierce and the water temp is very cold. Use of boats are at guests' own risk.

The driveway offers 2 to 4 (depending on vehicle size) private off-street parking spots and street parking

*HOUSEKEEPING* Professionally cleaned, luxury bed linens provided.

Where you’ll be

Duluth, Minnesota, United States

Park Point is the world’s longest freshwater sandbar (more than seven miles long) that stretches out into the largest freshwater lake in the world. Take advantage of the beach/playground/tennis & basketball courts across the street. Grab the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, insulated beach bag, and picnic basket from the house and make it a day!

A couple miles down the point you’ll find a large recreation and beach with a lifeguard on duty during the summer season, a playground, the Park Point Beach House, and a small airport.

At the airport, the secluded Minnesota Point Walking Trail begins and runs parallel to the lone runway. The trail then meanders all the way to the tip of the peninsula, passing 200 year-old red and white pines along the way. It is a perfect and unique hike, with birds and wildlife in abundance.

Please allow yourself extra time to get around if venturing off Park Point and into Canal Park as you may get “bridged”. The Aerial Lift Bridge goes up every half hour on the hour from Memorial Day to Labor Day, it also goes up when ships enter or exit the port. You can download the MarineTraffic app or go to HarborLookout website to find ship location & schedule.

Hello! I'm Mia, the designer/manager/host of this magical Lake home, and Steve (owner) is the maintenance crew :) We enjoy welcoming guests by sharing our knowledge and experiences of Park Point and the surrounding areas. Steve bought The Bayview Cottage (his childhood home) back in 2007. It was a long-term rental until Mia came aboard in 2018 and saw how much fun they could have sharing it with family and friends and then eventually a vacation rental to let others create their own lasting memories & traditions. Mia takes pleasure by exploring nature via boat, paddle, kayak, and paddleboard. I also love hosting friends and family, biking/hiking, gardening, and working with Steve on home renovations and projects. We enjoy sharing this serene oasis with the world, and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do! Mia & Steve
