Remember that it's fundamental to have a car in Sardinia. Means of transport(except for Cagliari) are rare! you need a car to stay at my house too.
At home you'll find a blue folder with maps, tips about beaches, cultural sites, restaurants, bakery, fishmonger and cheap supermarkets.Print my airbnb guide too. You'll have any assistance you may need by my landlady who lives nearby.
water in Sardinia is not potable. So don't drink water in the house. don't use it for cooking.
The water is supplied by a well at home.Unfortunately, The well doesn't give much water in the summer so please: don't throw water away and don't let water run without pourpouse: for example, while taking a shower if you are using the soap stop water running.
It's better to use plastic glass and dishes so you can avoid washing up.
When you arrive you'll have always a water tank full, able to supply you for a week (6000 liters of water); this is included in the price. if you run out of it because you threw water away you must buy extra water personally(80 euros for 6500 liters of water).
The cleaner waters the garden, but if you don't want people around while you're there if you prefer, you can water the plants yourself, or you can tell me the time when you are away so she won't disturb you.
In the house you have different containers for the garbage: glass, paper, plastic and humid. you 're not obbliged to divide the garbage:it's up to you. Unfortunately the don't pick up the humid at home so you have to bring it down the hill, before arriving on ss 125, on the left, before Tucano restaurant The containers for the glass, plastic and paper are right down the slope of my house(they're yellow, white and green). when you leave, please, throw the garbage away, the humid at least!!!
I don't live in Sardinia, so Valeria, the cleaner is the person in charge of the house and the one who can give you the keys and show you around. If you leave very early you can leave the keys in the mail box.
Try to be precise for the time of arrival and departure: she will be waiting for you and she makes me pay extra money for any inconvenience it may rise or for the extra time spent.
Before the holiday Alessandra was always very quick to respond to my questions and queries by text/ email. The host provided lots of useful info prior to our arrival although finding the house in the village wasn't very easy without the help of Valeria and another neighbour who came out to guide us because we'd said by text when we were likely to arrive. (It's very much last house up a steep track which is picked up to the right, once you've gone through most of the village). Shopping (food/bottled water) on the way from the airport to the house (Olbia airport) was relatively straightforward. The house itself has a brilliantly stocked kitchen, slightly confusing rubbish/ recycling arrangements and there was an unfortunate breakage (broken loo seat which had not been fixed) but overall the views were fantastic, cold shower (outdoor) great for hot afternoons/ refreshing starts and the online pictures we found to be very accurate to what is there. It was nice to be able to watch cable, eat on the terrace, watch DVDs we took and generally chill out. The area is beautifully quiet whilst also being very close to lots of good small shopping centre, excellent beaches and interesting sites (ancient archeology, museums and fun ice cream parlours, big rocks, etc!) overall I would love to return- there's so much more to explore and the price of the accommodation was very reasonable considering what we had available. Alessandra said as we were leaving she plans to head to the house this week to fix the things we flagged as broken. Great job, thank you greatly
Alessandras home was the perfect start for our sardinia trip. In front the view above the coast, behind deserted nature. A 15 minutes trip to the most beautifully beaches ... we highly recommend this cosy place!
Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswert! Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit.
We stayed in Alessandra's house for the second time and will certainly return a third time next year - I think this statement illustrates best how much we felt at home again. We can fully agree to all positive remarks that other visitors already made, no need to repeat the obvious, this location provides a superb recreation factor! Thank you Alessandra and Valeria!
On our trip around the island of Sardenia Alessandra's house was our first stop - we (a couple with a small child) stayed 4 days.
Location: 1+ / A+
Wonderful location for an relaxing holiday: Tiriddò - the mini village - with no shopping possibilities at all - that was absolutely ok for us, as we were travelling by car anyway (tip: Auchan, Olbia).
The view from the two front terraces was spectacular and stunning! Thanks to the fresh breeze from the ocean we didn't miss an air condition at all.
The house was very quiet, no neighbor or road noises.
Finding the house was a bit tricky, but Valerie guided us by mobile phone... Don't visit this place with a (way too) lowered car = bumpy road.
Features: 1+ / A+
Alessandra has a great interior taste - typical Sardinian decoration. The kitchen was very well equipped. The nice garden had fresh herbs like rosmary, which we used for a pasta (yummy!).
We didn't miss anything: washing machine, TV (we didn't turn it on at all, but it was there), magazines, lots of storage options, bed linens, towels, laundry and rinsing agent, even small versions of soap, shampoo, conditioner, body milk, toys for our daughter, etc. were provided.
However, we didn't use the tiny shower in the bathroom as we preferred the 'open air' shower on the rear terrace. BTW: We didn't run out of water although we took a shower daily.
Cleanliness: 2- / B-
It was clean and tidy, but the kitchen accessories were sticky, so we only cooked once.
The bed linen, bathroom, floors, etc. were perfectly clean.
Contact: 1+ / A+
Alessandra was a great host. She prepared everything perfectly for our visit and Valerie (her cleaner and property manager?) explained everything in detail (in Italian - thank god, my husband speaks Italian ;) ).
Conclusion: 1- / A-
Absolutely and without restrictions recommendable!
