Great location

Guests who stayed here in the past year loved the location.
This 2nd floor guest suite in my home has a private entrance via an outdoor set of stairs (See Guest access section for details), full kitchen, and bathroom (tub but no shower). The open floor plan includes a front room with twin bed and a smaller TV room with futon sofa that I convert to a double bed as needed. Originally my art studio, I now offer it for short-term stays.

COVID-19 policy. I allow 24 hours between bookings (no same-day turnovers). I request that my guests be fully vaccinated.

The space
Wood floors enhance this bright studio unit on part of the second floor of my 1913 home in pedestrian-friendly Florence—a borough of Northampton. Guests have their own private entrance via an outdoor set of stairs, a full kitchen, and a deep clawfoot bathtub. There is no shower. The studio has an open floor plan including a front room with twin bed, and a smaller TV room with futon sofa that opens into a double bed. Original art graces the walls throughout.
I live in the rest of the house and am usually home during my guests' stays.

Fully equipped (though not stocked) kitchen. I can garage bikes with advance notice.

An established pedestrian-friendly mixed-use neighborhood with residences and offices. Easy walk to downtown Florence with stores and cafés offering all the basics. 2 miles to downtown Northampton, just a 5 minute drive, or a 45 minute walk.

There are private transport services from Bradley airport.
I offer up to 2 off-street parking spaces.
We are 3 blocks from local bus stops (PVTA)

This unit is not child-proofed or child-friendly for children under age 6.

Guest access
Guests enter through their own private door via an outside set of stairs to the second floor. It's a full flight of open stairs. If you have any mobility concerns, I''m happy to send you a photo of the staircase.

Other things to note
The short walk from the driveway to the stairs is across my lawn, so the grass could be wet based on weather conditions.

Regrettably I cannot accommodate service animals, for health reasons. I live in the house and use the studio regularly when guests are not here, and animals can trigger my asthma or impact my partner's animal allergies. I am in compliance with Airbnb's standards and ADA regulations based on this.

As noted above, there is a bathtub (deep clawfoot tub), but no shower.

This unit is not child-proofed or child-friendly for children under age 6.

I do not stock the kitchen with food, but on advance request may be able to accommodate needs for travelers who arrive after local stores have closed.

Lives in Northampton, Massachusetts
I'm from northern Vermont, but have called Western Massachusetts home for many years. I'm a graphic designer by trade, and on my travels I love to sketch and paint—always on the hunt for scenic places. And if they're somewhere near good restaurants, farmers' markets, museums, or indie book stores, all the better! As a host, I enjoy sharing my home (and my town) with interesting, creative, and respectful people. I've met so many lovely folks!
