Very nice getaway place. Bobby (Robert) was very responsive and nice host. Nature is spectacular and house is well kept.
This cottage is a perfect home away from home. Bobby (the owner) is honest and very easy to get along with. The pictures and description are accurate, and the home was stocked with essentials so all we needed to bring were clothing and meals. I recommend this relaxing and classy home to anyone interested, and will certainly consider booking this cottage again.
We had a great time at Bobby's cottage! He was not there, but was very welcoming and helpful via phone/text. The cottage was secluded with beautiful views all around and lots of hiking/places to explore outside. The interior was clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Plus, there is a beautiful kitchen if you like to cook!
We had some issues..
The property and home are as pictured.
Bobby was readily available before and during our trip, answering calls or getting back in a short time.
There were a few important things that stopped us from enjoying ourselves as much as we had hoped to, so we feel the need to disclose them here.
They very well may not be an issue for some people, but we will not be returning due to them and also hope to never encounter these issues on airbnb again.
First was that we were promptly hit with headaches - a bug bomb had very recently been set off (as most people in this area do at this time of year) but the house had obviously not been aired out and so the intense chemicals remained until we arrived and opened the doors/windows; we stayed outside for 2+ hours, and then swept up the dead bugs. The intense air dissipated but our headaches remained for a few days. Next, and just as or more invasive to us, was locating a fake camera on the ceiling of the living room. For the first evening we didn't realize it was fake - we were exhausted and completely weirded out, checking the vents and various ridiculous home areas for more cameras. When we went to cover it up the next morning we saw that it was just for show. This was actually more alarming than had it been real. We feel strongly that something of this sort should be fully disclosed on airbnb.
After all this I realized one other thing bothered me - which possibly would have been fine, but on top of these other issues ...
The space is titled "Secluded Cottage..." and the night before we were set to get there, when Bobby and I spoke about the keys and whatnot he mentioned that he was having an oven built in the driveway and someone might be there during the day working on it. It turned out that we didn't want to stay at the place during the day, but we would have if all these others things hadn't come into play - and in that instance, if someone had come to do construction work in the driveway, we would have been surely pulled out of the very desired 'secluded' vacation time.
I'm sure Bobby will be a great host one day, and hopefully hearing how these things affect other people will help him get there quicker.
Peace & Quiet in the Country.
My fiance and I spent two days and two nights at Bobby's. We were going to hike and explore the area but ended up staying put at the cabin relaxing and enjoying the property grounds. Bobby was extremely courteous and although not onsite he was always available and quick to respond via phone and text. Interior of the home was very well kept and very clean. Great chef kitchen to cook in along with two very nice decks. The immediate property is extremely well kept and the natural pond pool is gorgeous. And its true...spectacular sunsets with a glass of wine is a true testament to this place. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again.
