My home is located in an older, tree-lined, 'sidewalk' neighborhood that is very safe and quiet.
My house is 3 blocks from the nearest beach, and a 20-25 minute walk to downtown Traverse City, West End Beach, the Open Space, and Clinch Park Marina. Right around the corner within walking distance there is the neighborhood bakery, 2 bike shops (McClain Cycle and Brick Wheels), breakfast/lunch diner, grocery store, wine shop, gourmet pizza, and a brew pub. The Cherry Capital Airport is a 10 minute drive (or a $12 cab fare). Having lived in TC for 30 years, I would be happy to recommend restaurants, fishing charters, wineries, golf courses and other entertainment during your stay.
The accommodations include a private room, comfy queen-sized bed, nice linens, cable TV, and wireless internet. Shared bath. Cozy space, but nice and clean. I will gladly provide breakfast or other special requests depending upon the guests' wishes/schedule. Weekday check-in times must be between 12:30 and 1:00, or after 5:30. Weekend check-ins can be very flexible depending on other guests.
Hosting Airbnb guests in my home has given me a chance to meet very interesting people who would not have otherwise crossed my path. I look forward to hosting many, many more!
I’m pretty laid back - I don't have too many rules - just the usual common sense things. Lock the door. Clean up after yourself in the bathroom. Hang up wet towels. Leave dirty shoes at the door. Be kind to my plumbing. Keep me posted on comings and goings, and I will do the same. Most of all, explore the area and HAVE FUN!
Gail was always there for me from a quick response to my inquiry right up to helping get my stuck vehicle out of the driveway from the city's snow plow from the snowfall the night before.
The house was cozy, the room and bath were clean and the sheets were soft. She had the good sense to honor my privacy yet be there for an interesting social discussion about her great city and her B&B experiences. .
Stayed at the Park Place the night before and I wish I stayed at Gail's place all weekend. Definitely next time.
Gail is a very accommodating and kind host. She lives in a cozy, little house located close to downtown and the Bay.
I highly recommend Gail and her welcoming place!
Gail's place is nice and clean and in a beautiful neighborhood! Gail was very friendly and warm and she cooked a fantastic breakfast for me! I enjoyed talking with her, she's an intelligent and open minded woman. Unfortunately, I stayed only for one night. Thanks Gail!
Gail's home is cute and tidy, and she and Diva (our furry hostess) made us feel right at home. One thing I loved was how flexible Gail was. When our arrival time turned into 5:30, 7:30, then 8:30, it wasn't a problem. Great communication. Gail cooked us a delicious spinach and mushroom omelet with english muffins and turkey sausage for breakfast in the morning, and she had tons of great recommendations for everything from wineries to restaurants. We had a comfortable bed, fluffy towels, and a wonderful host. The location would have been ideal for biking, since we brought them, but it was a little too rainy to really enjoy the trail. Despite the rainy weather we got stuck with, we had a great weekend. Thanks, Gail!
My boyfriend and I stayed with Gail for one night over the weekend for a last minute trip up to TC. Gail was a great host, she was super flexible about our late arrival and she had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. She had coffee and breakfast foods for us in the morning and we very pleasant. I'd recommend staying here!
My girlfriend and I spent a night at Gails place over Labor Day weekend and it honestly felt more like we were staying with a close friend than a complete stranger. Not only did she make us the most tasty breakfast I've had in a while, she even drove us to the wedding we were going to so we wouldn't be late and sent us off with a bottle of wine!
Great conversation and great hospitality, I would definitely stay here again.
Gail was a great host. She was at home to meet us when we arrived and eager to welcome us to the town. It was clear that she loved the city and she did a great job of conveying her enthusiasm for us. She also had a map of the city out for us to look at which was helpful for us in terms of figuring out how to get around and she gave us great directions as well. The location is excellent-it's a beautiful neighborhood and just a short walk to downtown. It was fun just getting a chance to know her and chatting while she made breakfast for us. She made a fantastic breakfast for us-omelets with fresh vegetables, turkey sausage, and toast with jam. Would definitely stay here again!
I love meeting new people - living alone can get a bit boring sometimes, so I look forward to hosting interesting people and promoting this beautiful area!
