The Space

Personal, quiet retreat with view of orchard, flower gardens, and herd of grass fed beef among other farm friends. Perfect for a weekend getaway into the country. Includes bathroom with shower, kitchenette with microwave and Keurig, queen bed and daybed, plus wi-fi (works most of the time). No television, but 50 acres of beautiful walks with snowshoe or cross country possibilities! If you like, bring your boots and gloves for farm chores:) Five miles from historic Honesdale and 2.5 hours from NYC. Continental breakfast with farm fresh eggs cooked to order (we've been told they can't be beat!) and you choose the site for dining. Breakfast only served Friday through Sunday. Nearby picturesque towns with shopping and dining in PA and NY. Enjoy a pond-side fire to cap off your day of exploration.

Guest Access

Guests have access to pasture walks, abundant flower gardens, pond-side seating, hammock and garden seats.

Interaction with Guests

We enjoy meeting guests, informing them about area interests, and exchanging passions and interests (if they are interested)! We also know people like to get away to the quiet of the country and value their solitude.

Only 4.5 miles from Honesdale, PA; 10 miles from Narrowsburg, NY, and a step outside to nature, one can find a little bit of everything if you're willing to take the adventure!

  • Me and my girlfriend stayed at the farm cottage after 5 hectic days in New York City and Washington, DC. It was a very welcome change of pace, just what we needed! When we arrived we were greeted by George and Katharine, who were very warm and welcoming hosts. If you are looking to get some peace and quiet, this is the place for you! The morning after we arrived we had a delicious breakfast prepared by Katharine, which was a very nice surprise. We explored some of the Pennsylvania countryside while we were staying, I can honestly say it was the best part of our trip! We had quite some snow while were there, which was a pretty sight, we'd like to come back sometime in spring or summer though and see the flowers!

  • Every time we said “Well, it can’t get any better than this” it got better! Fox Hill Farm was the perfect escape from the city. Catherine & George were great hosts - not to mention the kids and cast of adorable animals. Walking around the grounds of the farm you’ll find endless opportunities and enjoy everything around you. The town of Honesdale is just as nice as the farm itself. One of the birthplaces of the American Railroad, full of culture, history AND $1 ice cream cones!!! We’ll definitely be coming back for another stay.

  • My husband and I are just back from a simply wonderful weekend in Flower farm cottage. The long weekend was everything we wanted from a few relaxing days in the countryside - just perfect!

Katharine and George did everything possible to make sure we had a truly great time, and we are very grateful to them for their extremely kind and welcoming hospitality. As other reviewers have already said, the farm-fresh breakfast is divine - a fabulous start to the day! But beyond this, they went out of their way to help us throughout.

The cottage itself has everything you need to feel comfortable and to be able to self-cater. We were able to buy fresh produce from local roadside stalls, and enjoyed watermelons, peaches, apples and tomatoes. The farm is beautiful, and we had fun walking around, saying hello to the animals and flowers.

Locally, we went on a great hike and enjoyed rafting at Narrowsburg - recommended by Katharine and George. We were also lucky that our stay coincided with 'Pig Mountain' - a feast, served up by local farmers and restaurants. Another evening, we barbecued and roasted marshmallows by the pond.

Thank you for such a brilliant weekend. We really cannot recommend staying here enough!

Oh, and also worth noting that you can get married on the farm, too! A beautiful rustic countryside setting!

  • Picture-perfect farm! We stayed for a few nights while attending a friend's wedding down to road. The farm is not too far out of town, but was hidden off the main road in a picturesque setting. There were blooming wildflowers all over the property, and the landscaping (done by the owners themselves) was lovely. It was fun to stay on a working farm. We got to play with the farm dog and cat, and see the chickens, guinea hens, and rabbit. The cattle were further out in the pasture, and we had to leave for the wedding, so we didn't get to see them.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and came stocked with towels and toiletries. I suggest picking up a bottle of local wine and some cheeses- there's a set of wine glasses, plates and silverware in the small kitchenette area. In the morning, we were offered a breakfast of farm-fresh eggs and locally-made pumpkin bread. Our hosts were very nice, helpful, and quick to respond to my email questions. Before we left on our way home, they offered to lead us to a local farmer's market, which was great fun. I would stay here again in a minute. I'd love to see the area in a different season.

  • The short summary: if you want a retreat in the Pennsylvania countryside and are fine with the presence of animals and absence of technology, staying at this excellent place is more than worth the trip!

My wife and I stayed here for one week. The place is phenomenal--even bigger than in the pictures, so long as you have 2-3 people--both inside and out. Indoor amenities are just as listed; outdoor amenities like pure air and wonderful views are harder to quantify but splendid. The dog is quite friendly, the roosters not too loud and the cows don't mind you walking the path between pastures.

The place is decorated tastefully and easy to stay in. One of my favorite amenities is the limited phone and Internet service! It's very relaxing to unplug. (If you really need connection, there is good cell service in town and the local library has computers you can use for $1/day.) The bed is so comfy that you want to sleep in, but trust me: it's worth getting up for the delicious breakfasts with farm-fresh eggs and milk.

The cottage is near the main farm house, and the family is very friendly & helpful. Katherine was prompt in answering messages and even made arrangements so we could bring supermarket food inside and save money on our trip.

It's somewhat of a drive from any major city, and you definitely need a car even to get into town [4.5 miles], but that was part of the break from busyness my wife & I sought. We hope that others can enjoy this great place almost as much as we did and would love to come back someday!

  • We had an amazing weekend at the farm with Catherine and George! They were wonderful hosts, preparing us breakfast and inviting us to come join a party they were having at their barn during our stay. The farm was perfect for a weekend away from the city, quiet and off the beaten path. We would most certainly recommend others to go stay!

  • We went to the Brown's for our anniversary weekend and had an amazing time. This was both mine and my partners first airbnb experience, and we were worried things wouldn't be as they seemed online, but the place is even more beautiful than the pictures lead you to believe! The cottage is adorable, well set-up and super clean and comfortable. Our hosts were so kind and accommodating and we had a wonderful, wonderful time and are already planning our next trip.
