Namaste Farms (NF) is a gorgeous working wool sheep farm located in the heart of Temecula's wine country. The upscale main cottage has a loft bed, kitchenette, fire pit and more. NF has a rural feel (with animals just steps from your cottage) while being very close to the wineries, Galway Downs and Temecula city limits. The Main cottage can accommodate up to 4 with the loft and a pullout bed. Need another cottage? We also have the Hay Barn: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/28938087?s=51

The space
NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. While most guests (and your hosts) see the idiosyncrasies and obvious cohabitation with animals and bugs beautiful, you may not. If your primary focus is on amenities, and you're looking for a completely dust/dirt, cobweb/bug, and animal/animal sound free experience, a working farm is probably not a good fit for you. This listing does have a loft bed with a ladder! Also, since many people don't read past this paragraph, the price posted is for one guest which keeps costs down for single travelers. Airbnb will charge a fee after the first traveler so please put in the accurate number of guests. This will prevent being charged when you arrive. Also, there is a 10.00 a day dog fee. Just know, you're supporting a 501c3 charity and all the revenue goes to support the animals.

This booking is for the Main cottage, and while it's only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres, and Casner Ranch. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, but if you want to peruse all of them, we can arrange a driver for you (28.00/hour) who will drive (Audi or Mercedes) and take you anywhere within Temecula/Murrieta while happily waiting for you so you can quickly go to your next destination. If you don't want a driver, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit!
The main cottage is upscale and comfortable with a rustic bathroom and a kitchenette. It also includes the loft (entered via a ladder) so please tell us if you prefer not to sleep in the loft WHICH we must know ahead of time so so we can make up a beautifully adorned ground floor bed. This is a bit of production, so once again, we need to know ahead of time.
We encourage guests to feel at home and enjoy the peaceful farm environment which extends beyond the cottage. If you have more guests in your group, please check out the Hay Barn cottage in a separate listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/28938087?s=51 or Hammie; https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/33579683?s=67&shared_item_type=1&virality_entry_point=1&sharer_id=201785688

Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up so that we can attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there is dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and they will surely leave with dust on their shoes. That said, I'm a frequent Louboutin wearer and I regularly chassé in my stilettos; dirt ground and all.

We welcome you and hope you choose to stay with us. If you're looking for a wedding venue, for a very reasonable price (1/3-1/2 less than other facilities), you can rent our facility for your own "Farm Wedding." Interested in renting Namaste Farms for a Farm/Barn/Ranch Wedding or simply an outdoor party Venue?" We want you here! Please go to Temeculafarmwedding.com

Guest access
This is self check so you just go to your space. Also, have free access to the working farm. You may roam around and look at the animals, feed the horses carrots, and bring treats for the sheep. While rare, on occasion free access won't be available.

Other things to note
You do have a short trip down a dirt road. The road, while hard packed and maintained is bumpy. Because this is a farm, there is plenty of dirt and dust. As with any working farm, our facility is not paved. Please plan on your shoes being dusty...
Also, if you're booking for yourself and other guests, PLEASE let them read the description before booking. While you may love the idea of coming to a farm with dirt, animals and bugs, others may not. Simply explaining to family members or friends that you're "so excited" to have booked a farm isn't enough to make them fully understand what "a farm " means. While those accompanying you may be excited to come here based on your level of enthusiasm, the reality of a working farm may simply be too primitive for them. To insure an enjoyable experience, share this link and get approval from co-guests first.

Namaste Farms has a fantastic location if you're interested in the wine country. In fact, we're very close to the major wineries as well as Gallaway Downs. When we purchased in 1997, there was nothing here but racehorse and cutting horse ranches. While many of those famed farms (such as Jack Klugmans) have since sold, we moved here to farm, and still do to this day. Our property has a very rural feel, but luckily it's located only 1/4 mile from the city limits and about 3 miles from the nearest Starbucks.

My name is Natalie Redding, and I'm a shepherdess. I went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and have a B.S. and a M.S. in Animal Science. Farming is my passion and I teach fiber arts all over the world. There are 5 things I can't live without (in order of importance): Family Scrappy (my rescue BF) Crappy American Beer (no craft brews) Designer Stilettos Sugary foods I love guests who are interested in the farm experience. It makes my heart happy to answer questions regarding what I do or what owning a farm entails. While I'm a very hands off host, you're happiness is paramount and I'm here to help in any way I can. My life motto is, "I'd rather be around 100 overtly aggressive people than 1 passive aggressive one."

While we live on the property in a separate location, there are times when we may not be readily available. I travel the globe teaching about wool so there are times I won't be in California and while my husband, Sean, is almost always here, he works graveyard and so is typically sleeping between 4:00 pm and 11:00 pm each evening. Please use the numbers provided in the manual to contact either of us.
