Nature and wildlife are plentiful in our woods and pastures as well as the surrounding wetlands. Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area lies just west of the farm. It covers over 9,000 acres with opportunities for wildlife photography, bird watching, hunting, and fishing.

The space
This farm stay home has 2 acres of lawn and a small pond that is currently being renovated. Use the deck off of the dining area for watching the sun rise over the pastures in the morning or stargazing at night.

Our 400 acre farm is home to cattle, chickens, 2 alpacas, and Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs. The main farm is located just a mile or so around the corner from the house.

You will also see a variety of wildlife including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, song birds, geese, swans, bald eagles, hawks, and more.

Use the kitchen, charcoal grill, or campfire to prepare meals. Ask about our farm raised meats and eggs which can be purchased and enjoyed during your stay! And bring your cooler and take some home!

Guest access
You have full access to the home, lawn, and trails around the farm. The home has a one car garage that can be used for storage. It is not available for parking vehicles.

Bring your passwords to log-in and use the Smart TV.

Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area is located just down the road, a sprawling 9,000 acre wildlife area.

You can take a farm tour or participate in daily chores under our supervision. We will welcome about 45 baby calves from spring thru fall.

Two canoes are available to rent for boating and fishing in the Killdeer area ponds. You will need an Ohio fishing license if you plan to fish in public waters.

Ask us about fees for hunting access on the farm. White-tailed deer and doves in the fall and turkey in the spring are popular. All Ohio laws are applicable. You will need an Ohio hunting license.

Other things to note
You will need to climb stairs to access the main living space in the home.

If you are planning to hunt or fish on the state wildlife area, Ohio does require a license.

My work: Funkhouser Family Farm and Creative Expressions by DeAnn
Speaks English
I grew up in rural Ohio on a family farm. I am a self-employed graphic designer, but farming is in my blood. My husband, Joe, and I are the caretakers of my family's farm as well as our own. We love our animals (cows, chickens, alpacas and dogs), walking the pastures, hiking in the woods, gardening and meeting new folks. Please stop by and visit a bit or come to the barn to see what's happening! We would love to show you around!
