Whilst we respect our guests privacy, we are always on hand if needed, and enjoy discussing our area and local history. As we live on a farm, we hope that guests may enjoy meeting some of our animals- cats, dogs, chickens, ponies and donkeys.
We live on the Beara Peninsula- which is an area of great scenic beauty. There is a wealth of local archaeology and some lovely walks and hikes.
Please do not smoke in the wagon.
Please do not wear outdoor shoes in the wagon
We do not allow pets in the wagon- as some guests suffer from allergies
What an amazing adventure! A beautiful quiet retreat AND excellent hosts! We couldn't ask for more. Marie&Ger's cottage is a rustic getaway that makes for an ideal resting spot. We got a very warm welcome from the whole family and they would make you feel comfortable from the very beginning. The caravan is not just beautifully decorated but it is spotless and cozy and it is fully equipped with light, books, games and nice tea&cake! Breakfast was unbelievable: healthy, delicious and surrounded by nature; just priceless. The place is not difficult to find, but follow the provided directions rather than the GPS!
A charming wagon in a beautiful location. Our hosts were warm and friendly and we were served the most delicious breakfast, brought to the wagon in a hamper!! I loved it and I would certainly stay there again.
This place was out of this world!!! The location is outstanding! The views from the garden are to die for! The gypsy van is super cute and immaculate inside! Marie had though of everything in here and gone to a lot of trouble to make it comfortable and cozy. The couple gave us an excellent recommendation for our evening meal at Josies restaurant just down the hill, the views from this place are also spectacular and the food of very good quality! Plus they serve guiness! :-D
Breakfast was brought to the door of the van for us in the morning and was amazing! Home made granola with yogurt and fruit compote followed by omelettes! Yum!
The couple made us feel so welcome and came to chat to us when we got back from our meal even though it was raining!
We can't recommend this place enough!
Its off the beaten track but we loved our stay in the Gypsy Wagon - so tranquil and cosy, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Marie and Ger were just great hosts. So welcoming. Marie is a wonderful cook - the breakfasts are tremendous and on the first night she made us a three course vegetarian dinner which was delicious (and ridiculously cheap). There's a shower/toilet block in an unobtrusive converted container just across the garden - spotless. Great place for peace and quiet.
Staying with Marie and her lovely family it has been a wonderful experience. They helped me to fix a problem with my car being really helpful and great!! The wagon is fun, breakfast wonderful and bathroom spotless! Absolutely recommended.
This place is really a gem; the location is stunning and peaceful, the wagon is very cosy, clean and has a lot of character, but above all Marie and Ger are very warm and kind people. They offer an affordable place to stay with a great 2 course breakfast and there was an option to have a delicious 3 course vegetarian dinner. For me, the way Marie and Ger run everything, this is really what airbnb should be like.
So, looking for a cosy, unique and clean airbnb in nature which is run by very kind and helpfull people: this is it.
Easy to find due to Marie's great directions. Upon arrival we were greeted by our hosts who were friendly and welcoming. Lucky for us the weather was amazing so we were able to enjoy the outdoor space and have breakfast outside. The wagon is cozy and is perfect for couples who want to get away from the rush of every day life.
We loved the decor in the wagon and even in the toilet/shower facilities. Shower was very nice.
Highly recommend a stay with Marie.

About the Host, Marie
My partner Ger and I live with our three children on the Beara Peninsula in Co.Kerry. We live on a small farm which has been in my family for four generations (at least!)The family trade was shoe making, and locally some of the older people still remember this place as the shoemakers house. We all like old things-and that has led us to the idea of setting up a small vintage caravan site. We keep Kerry bog ponies- which are a native Irish breed, donkey's, chickens, ducks, cats and dogs. We are both very interested in local history and love to discuss this with our guests. Funnily enough, I do have a life motto, or life plan. Its quite simple-MFB which stands for 'Make Fehanaugh Beautiful.'- Fehanaugh is the name of the townland we live in, and it's quite beautiful already- but I'd like to help it along.
