Guests access their basement apartment through a separate entrance on the back of the home. I try to be home to welcome you, give you an initial tour of the space, & answer any questions. Our backyard is somewhat of an urban farm & guests are welcome to explore this area. If interested, ask us for a tour of the yard (we love to talk about our plants & landscaping). On the patio is a table, chairs, chaise lounges, and BBQ to use (when weather permits). In the summer, we usually have a badminton net set up for a rousing game or two.
Interaction with guests
We respect our guest's privacy, so this is as much or as little as you like. Almost any time of year has so many options for things to do and it is just a beautiful city. We welcome the chance to host visitors in our home and will tell you all about this fabulous place.... if you ask. Our amazing city of Portland, Oregon is a wonderful place to live and we like to say it is like being on vacation every day.
Other things to note
No animals ever go in the basement apartment, but note that we share the main level of our home with 3 wonderful cats: Abbey, Dubbel, & Tripel (all named after Belgian beer). They are very sweet & loving - you may see them in a window. At times, there may also be a small foster dog in on the main level of the home- again, not in the basement. Also, the basement is standard ceiling height, except two spots. If taller than 6'2", please watch your head in doorway & with one beam in pool room.
We're very easy going & ask that you respect our home. No smoking inside, no drugs, no outside guests, & no pets. Please take off shoes inside door.

Hi- Myself & my boyfriend Noel love living in Portland & love to share it with guests. We also enjoy traveling....but our city is so cool, we never want to leave. We both work from home - water fountain sales, internet marketing, & beach vacation rental management (WA coast). The backyard of our home is an urban farm - garden boxes, fruit trees, & berry bushes. Our garden allows us fresh fruits/veggies in the summer & and canned/dried items in the winter. We enjoy talking about your yard & give tours, if interested. Noel is also a huge beer geek & would relish the chance to talk anything beer. We're both animal lovers & currently share our home with a couple fun-loving cats & sometimes, a foster dog. I'm vegan (no meat, dairy, eggs) & Noel is flexitarian. We're able to speak a little Spanish (Hablamos Espanol). We're usually around during the day working in our home offices or toiling in the garden - if around in the evening, we are usually watching some bad TV.. LOL. We enjoy live music/theater & often will go out in the evenings for shows. In warmer weather, we try to sneak off as often as possible for tennis, biking, hiking & anything else outside.
