Liebesnest, "love nest" in the language of the Germans who settled the Hill Country — is a chic container cottage built for 2 on 7 acres. It's a short drive to Main Street, candlelit restaurants and wineries. With clean lines, pillow-top queen & private hot tub - it's an intimate hideaway where sunsets give way to Dark Sky gazing. It's a quiet weekend that feels like a small vacation from your own life. Recommended by The Hill Country Bon Vivant. Refreshed May 2026, incl. hot tub.
The space
Step into Liebesnest and experience the creative fusion of design and comfort. This cozy haven invites you to unwind in a truly one-of-a-kind setting. The perfect escape, whether you're seeking solitude or a romantic rendezvous. Take a leisurely stroll down to the creek, connected to the Pedernales River, and try your hand at feeding the fish. Relaxation is the goal – bring a fishing pole and let the calming atmosphere work its magic. As night falls, gather around the fire pit to bask in the warmth and marvel at the vast Texas sky, a canvas adorned with bright stars.
THE COTTAGE - Refreshed May 2026
True to its name — German for "love nest" — Liebesnest is a chic container cottage built for two, where clean modern lines meet Hill Country warmth. Sink into a plush pillow-top queen bed dressed in high-thread-count linens, with blackout curtains that keep morning politely at bay and a full bath with a walk-in shower just steps away. The kitchenette is small but mighty — granite counters, a Keurig for lazy breakfasts, a mini-fridge stocked with local "take one, leave one" beers, and everything you need to cook in when staying in sounds better than going out. Pull up a chair at the bistro table for wine and long conversations, then migrate to the lounge for a movie on the smart TV — the kind of night that feels like the whole point of getting away.
INTERNET SERVICE
Take a video call from the porch, stream a movie in the evening, or connect a laptop, tablet, and phone at once. Our underground fiber internet - a rarity in this part of the Hill Country - handles all of it without buffering or dropped connections. Fast, reliable Wi-Fi that works the same in a thunderstorm as it does on a clear day.
LAST STAND KITCHEN
Breakfast for two is part of every stay — prepared by Chef Jack of Last Stand Kitchen. A retired professional chef and restaurant owner, Jack most recently served as Executive Chef at Garrison Brothers Distillery in nearby Hye. He sets it in your kitchenette before you arrive. Yours whenever you're ready, on the porch if you choose.
Heading to a winery, a hike at Enchanted Rock, a slow afternoon on the porch or working remotely from the cottage? A picnic lunch is a proper mid-day break - no cooking, no errand, just a meal ready in the fridge when you're ready to step away from the screen. Last Stand Kitchen packs picnic lunches on request — fried chicken, chicken salad, a Hill Country charcuterie board, or something custom Chef Jack builds for your day. Because Jack sources fresh and prepares everything by hand, picnics are made to order - subject to his weekly availability, with at least 7 days' notice before check-in. If you're closer to your arrival than that, send us a message anyway — we'll always do our best to put something together. Message us when you book.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Your front porch has two chairs, a private hot tub, and a front-row seat to the Hill Country sunset — the sky doing its slow, nightly performance just for the two of you. Privacy screens keep the porch entirely yours, so the only audience for the soak is the one in the seat next to you.
Down the path, the shared common area opens up: hammock swinging between the pecans, a charcoal grill for slow-cooked dinners, and a wood-burning fire pit that becomes the center of gravity once the sun disappears. Trade stories, lean a little closer, and look up — the Texas night above Fredericksburg is deep and dark and generous, the Milky Way sometimes showing up to steal the show. A round of cornhole if you're still awake; a little more romance, either way.
THE HOT TUB
Liebesnest's private hot tub anchors the porch. Soak as the sunset spills across the Hill Country, then stay in the water until the Milky Way arrives. This is the part of the evening that goes long.
FREDERICKSBURG AND THE HILL COUNTRY
A seasonal creek winds along the property — bring a rod, pack a picnic, and see what the afternoon turns into. You're minutes from the vineyards and tasting rooms that put Fredericksburg on the map, with farm-to-table restaurants, peach orchards, and lavender fields tucked between the vines. Climb the pink granite dome of Enchanted Rock for big views, wander the wildflowers of LBJ State Park, or lose an afternoon on historic Main Street, where live music spills from patios and every shop feels like a small discovery. Then come home to Liebesnest and pick up right where you left off.
Liebesnest is one of four cottages on our property. When your circle expands, invite friends or family to join you at our sister stays: Starlit Sun House, Romantic Tiny Peach Cottage or the Cozy Tiny Container. Guest access
Your booking includes the entire Liebesnest cottage and the shared common area beyond your private porch — fire pit, charcoal grill, picnic tables, and hammocks. The cottage itself is purpose-built for two and designed for privacy; the common area is there when you feel like wandering. Most Liebesnest guests find a rhythm that goes porch, wine, fire pit, repeat.
Other things to note
The four cottages share a beautiful common area at the heart of the property, including a fire pit, picnic table and hammock. Each cottage has its own porch for privacy when you want it, and easy access to the common area when you don't.
Pets are welcome with a $50 fee per stay (See House Rules for the full pet policy).
WiFi runs on underground fiber - fast and reliable, unaffected by weather.
A Welcome Book is in the cottage when you arrive. QR codes are available for accessing the WiFi network, the Welcome Book and the local area guide.
The hot tub is yours around the clock. When you're ready to use it, please shower first and skip lotions, oils, and fragrances - they degrade the water quickly. Full hot tub instructions are in the Welcome Book.
