We were very disappointed with our stay at Sister Casuta. Upon arrival were were greeted with an overwhelming lingering smoke order and wet dog hair smell. But, we decided that we had to make the best of it. Later that night we noticed that the floor in the main living area was literally moving with bugs. The kitchen appliances were old and had grease build up on them. Needless to say we chose not to cook, and spent as little time there as possible. The bedroom area was a bit better. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. However, the only bathroom was located in the master bedroom so would be very inconvenient for more than two people. I would would not recommend Sister Casita to anyone.
Jessica was such a great host. Although we didn't get to meet her and we missed her phone call checking in on us, the house was exactly as described. Everything was clean and tidy and the location itself was easily accessible. We really enjoyed our time here and would love to make it back, we didn't stay long enough!
Great location as far as convenience, super easy to find and walking distance from the best restaurant in town... The love apple. However, the house was filled with bugs and spiders.... Killed no fewer than 40 bugs the first day and had to vacuum up the dead ones upon arrival. I notified Jessica and she was very accommodating saying that she will take care of it but I asked that she not spray during my stay.
One should also know that it is directly next to a do it yourself car wash and you will hear vacuums and beeping while you are trying to enjoy the patio.
Both fire places were out of order, so that was disappointing too.
Overall, I did not feel that the place lived up to the reviews posted here especially after seeing other places in town that friends were staying for the same money.
Jessica was extremely responsive to messages and questions both before and after booking, very welcoming, and just generally a great person to work with. Her home is exactly as pictured and described, which is to say it’s gorgeous. The neighborhood was fine and conveniently located. I really have only positive things to say—we hope to stay there again some day!
The flat was was smaller as the pictures showed. We came with 7
persons and we had to mlve the furnitures to place more mattresses for our group!
The rest was perfect...we had a fun time in Taos! Thank you Jessica for all the good information you provided!
I was born in Taos and love to visit as often as I can. This is the first time I have vacationed there that I haven't stayed with family, and I had an amazing trip! The property is wonderfully located near his place, but just far out enough that makes it feel very private. We arrived to find a very clean home with great amenities that made us feel very comfortable and at home. Several restaurants and shops are within walking distance which made our daily activities very convenient. My husband and I would love to stay here again.
This is a great casita. Jessica the owner/ manager was a good and quick communicator to secure the rental and receive information on the location and rules. The casita is charming filled with interesting furniture and decorations. It is very cozy and homey. The kitchen is amazingly well-stocked. The bathroom is updated and lovely. The shower works well. All aspects of the casita is very clean. The outdoors is nice, if somewhat untended. We enjoyed sitting outside. My friend is a smoker and she was allowed to smoke outside. We shared the big king bed. Because we are older we did not want to climb ladder to loft with second bed. The loft would be great for kids or younger people. The location is excellent. It feels rural and quiet yet it is close to town. A few yummy restaurants are in close walking distance. And if you have a dog like we do, the street is very walkable and beautiful, with big trees and a river running by. This casita is so nice, it would make a great monthly or longer rental.

About the Host, Jessica
I am thrilled to be part of a fun loving family. Our collective love of art, music, fresh air, travel and learning keeps our lives vivid and full of wonderful memories together.
One season we are taking in the crisp autumns, snowy winters, breathtaking mountain vistas and eclectic history of Northern New Mexico. Next we are soaking up the warm sunshine, tropical breezes, luscious flavors and sacred spirit of the Hawaiian Islands.
We are privileged to have found ourselves stewards of three remarkable properties in these magical locations. We have lovingly revived these homes, taking great care to honor the history and sacred space of each one.
It is our pleasure to share with you, our gracious guest, these special places so dear to our heart. Welcome, and may your visit with us become part of your own collection of wonderful memories!
