In Boise's foothills, near Hyde Park
In the Sunset neighborhood at the edge of the foothills, with trails steps from the door. Hyde Park dining is a short drive away.
Private courtyard at the foothills
A private fenced courtyard with seating and views of the foothills, right outside the studio door.
A place guests keep coming back to
Guests return again and again. Many are repeat visitors who call it their go-to stop in Boise.
Studio Apartment attached to the little main house with 270 acres of public land as the backyard. Off leash hiking with developed trails and amazing views of Boise and the mountains. Eclectic decor that makes you feel right at home with an outside private sitting area. Uber or Lyft will only cost you a few dollars to safely get downtown for the breweries and amazing restaurants. April and Gary live in the main house and help host the airbnb.
The space
Hiking and mountain biking right out the back door has to be the greatest part of this apartment. Lots of light and gardens.
I personally installed a new kitchenette from IKEA and a wet bath which is common in South America or Europe. Neither of these spaces are large or elaborate but are functional and beautiful. I still am finishing up a few details around the space but I feel like everything is a work in progress in some way.
Heads up: People that love my place tend to be the more laid back people who love to cuddle up with a good book or go hiking in the foothills. For whatever reason, the only people who have been less than 5 star thrilled with my space have been families with young children - even though most families with children have been thrilled. My best estimate is that families are looking for the cheapest price. My price fluctuates and is often one of the lower prices in town for a private space. However, families are often looking for a more traditional apartment versus an eclectic basecamp with access to the foothills and downtown. My ratings demonstrate that more people love the place and are enchanted than not. However, I wanted to be honest with young families so they can decide if the foothills are a bigger priority than a traditional space to rent for their kids.
Guest access
Enter through the gate with a triangle cutout, off of Ussery street. Plenty of parking along Ussery. You have your own private area to sit and relax with great views of the foothills. This area is fenced in so dogs are safe to just snoop and poop.
Other things to note
April and Gary have two cats, sibs Ellie and Diego. When they are out they are accompanied in a secure area in the backyard so please do not use the garden or grassy area behind the house. Your fenced in courtyard is separate should be safe.

Neighborhood highlights
On the edge of the Northend but more accurately described as Sunset neighborhood. Mostly residential. There is an amazing brewery and also a coffee shop less than a mile away. 13th Street / Hyde Park is a little over a mile away. Downtown is about 2.5 miles.
However, the most attractive part of the neighborhood is the foothills right out the back door. We have wonderful birds of prey and wildflowers as well as a less populated hiking area with amazing views of Boise.

I love being an Airbnb host. Travel is one of my favorite things and I tend to be more adventurous. Many of my best trips included an Airbnb stay. I love hiking and travel a lot with my dogs. I love good whiskey, craft beer, and a class of wine with a friend - but never all on the same night. I love to garden. I love to debate, but I love listening to someone with a fresh idea even better.
