Where you’ll be

Dominical, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica

Dominical lays on the Southern Pacific Ocean and is bordered to the north by the Río Barú, a freshwater river that runs from the mountains into the sea.
There are two national reserves in the area, and three more only an additional hour and a half away (Manuel Antonio National Park, Corcovado National Park and Caño Island National Preserve). To the south is the country’s underwater national park, Marino Ballena. The area has multiple corridor reserves allowing the animals to move within and around the area. Because of this, the area is full of hundreds of different species of exotic animals including; toucans, giant green and red iguanas, four types of native monkeys, parrots, sloths, various small cats and other native mammals.
Things to see and do, around Dominical:
Hiking and Waterfalls-Enjoy one of the many area hiking trails to observe the animals and birds while on your way to one of the magnificent waterfalls.
Surfing - With waves over 10 feet high, four kilometers of sandy beach, and warm water, Dominical is a surfer’s and beach-goers paradise. It has attracted surfers from all over the world since the 70’s.
Mangrove exploration – Get up close and personal with a plethora of birds, reptiles, and plants that are indigenous to these environments by kayak, SUP or boat.
Corcovado National Park – Ranked the third best national park in the world by National Geographic, this 103,000 acre park is home to 140 different mammals, 400 types of birds, plus monkeys, jaguars, and sea turtles.
Fishing & Fresh seafood – If you’re into fishing, the waters off Dominical are prime for catching sailfish, marlin, yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi, and more. There are plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy the fresh catch while watching the surf and/or sunset.
Jungle tours –ATV or horse tours to enjoy the beautiful rainforests, waterfalls, and wildlife.
