"The Pajama Factory" was just awarded the prestigious designation of being placed on the National Registry of Historic Places. In addition to artist studios, a coffee house "Buzz Saw Coffee" , White Knights Game room and CaFE and many small businesses; the Pajama Factory boasts of eclectic living lofts for the adventurous type. Only 5.7 miles to the Little League International World Series Complex and close to downtown night life restaurants..!!

The space
1883 Building of complex started and continued until 1919

Built by Lycoming Rubber Company, a subsidiary of the U.S.
Rubber Company, one of the largest manufacturers of all kinds of
rubber goods in the United States

Made arctics, tennis shoes, Keds sneakers, yachting shoes,
gym shoes as well as some miscellaneous rubber-related
products.

1934 Weldon Pajama Company began leasing small space in the
complex. Including Franklin Hosiery Mills, Faxon Fabrics, W..S. Green
Shoe Company, Lucille Footwear, Wundies , and the Weldon
Manufacturing Company- the worlds largest shirt and pajama
manufacture at the time.

1951 On January 26 th , Weldon Pajama Factory purchased the entire
complex for locating their factory operation
 Mid-1950s Weldon’s plant was the largest pajama factory in the world
(and made sports shorts too)
 International fame in connection with the Broadway musical, and later the
movie, “The Pajama Game,” staring Doris Day.

1979-2007 The complex was owned by Ray Smith and renamed
‘Raytown’. Over the years, it housed restaurants, a nightclub, a dance
studio for line dancing and the Equinox Company, a manufacturer of
fleece-related products and outdoor gear.

2007 Mark and Susie Winkelman purchased the factory complex with the
idea of establishing an exciting and diverse community of like-minded
“creative folks” outside of New York City, a place they’ve called home for
the last 40 years.

Today “The Pajama Factory” over 150 rented spaces and another 40% of
the building to develop. It is on the prestigious National Registry of
Historic Places.

Future plans include a rooftop beer garden and craft
brewery, farm to table restaurant, entryway gallery and office space, 65
loft residences, 50 more work studios and an additional 30,000 sq ft of
retail space. This is in addition to the completed two Airbnb’s, the dozen
residential lofts, the two event spaces, and all the current wonderful
tenant work studios and non-profits we currently have in place.

Although The Airbnb is located in the historic Pajama Factory building the 1307 Park Ave address does not take you to the South entrance. This is the mailing address and North side of one of the factory buildings. I hope this clears up the reviews of incorrect address or wrong location. The South entrance is the closest to the passenger elevator at this time, therefore the reason for the self check in to be off of Memorial Ave. When you arrive you will understand the dynamics of navigating this complex. Please note — , I do not maintain nor upkeep any of the common or other areas of the buildings . So please leave reviews based on this fact.
For any concerns regarding areas other than the Airbnb loft itself- please contact staff

Hi! I currently have my artist studio in the historic "Pajama Factory" . I love to hike, bike, play racquetball, yoga and kayak. Traveling is my passion especially to Bonaire, Dutch Carribean - its my favorite! I keep busy ~creating many non-traditional pieces in leather, textiles and fine art. Check out my work at leslandonstudio(dot)com thanks!
