This was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to... Certainly our favorite among many nice places we stayed across bali on our honeymoon. The photos don't do it justice. The villa is incredible and overlooks the pool and the jungle ravine into the river below. The grounds are lovely and there is a secluded massage area by the river as well. The staff were professional and friendly but also a joy to spend time with. And just all the little details were so well done from decor to service. We truly enjoyed it and were so sad to leave! Some things you should know. First, the location pinned at the time of booking was incorrect. This is actually part of Villa Beji Indah (you can find it on tripadvisor). Location is in a very pretty and upscale Ubud neighborhood with some nice dining options but note there is a 15 minute walk to the beginning of the center town. I believe this specific villa @ VBI is exclusively rented through Airbnb but you will likely find cheaper villas at VBI through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and such. I'm pretty sure those villas are not as nice as the one listed here as this one has at least the best view and most natural light. There are maybe 5 villas total and it feels extremely quiet. Also breakfast is included in this villa and I don't believe the others. While it isn't located as close to center as others, it was worthwhile for the great experience and we would have stayed longer if possible.

This was our first trip to Bali and it couldn't have been more amazing due to the staff in this villa. The place is so beautiful, set right in the forrest, on a river, with lovely pools and waterfalls, and traditional Balinese wood carved architecture. It was incredible to shower and look up at the sky and plants, to hear the wild life and yet be so serenely provided for. One morning it was too early to get a taxi to an early morning yoga class and the staff member drove me himself on his scooter. You can eat breakfast overlooking the river. Hot showers, good air conditioning for night, massages provided on site... So amazing. You will never want to leave! I definitely would return and suggest this villa to all!!! Also, communication was perfect.

Delightful place to stay; attentive, thoughtful and friendly staff, beautifully landscaped garden and a truly stunning pool. I would thoroughly recommend Villa Beji Indah - especially to anyone after a more relaxing and quiet stay than would be possible in the very centrally located villas. Can't recommend this beautiful villa highly enough.

Very nice accomodation in a quieter area of Ubud. Grounds and pools are especially nice. Hosts were very welcoming and able to organise anything you needed. Staying here was a breeze.

I really enjoyed my stay at this lovely estate! A refuge in a great location. Located in the very pleasant village of Nyuh Kuning, it is a short and enjoyable walk through the village and Monkey Forest to Ubud centre. Jepun is a very comfortable suite with a beautiful bathroom. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend for another five days!

From the moment of our arrival we felt very happy to be staying at Villa Beji Indah. The suite (Jeppun) is even lovelier than the photographs online and the Villa's gardens and pool are magnificent. The staff are friendly but unobtrusive, providing many little touches that made our stay pleasant. The surrounding village, Nyuh Kuning, is quiet and a picturesque refuge from the bustle of Ubud (a 15 minute walk away through Monkey Forest).

This is the home and garden of Dr Steve Wignall. The property is called Villa Beji Indah. We are located very close to the center of Ubud, next to the Monkey Forest and in a picturesque village called Nyuh Kuning.

There are 18 staff who are all from Ubud and therefore exude the same charm and friendliness that is unique to this Island of the Gods.

Steve is a leading public health expert and activist having spent the last 30 years working with the Clinton Foundation, Family Health International and the Indonesian Ministry of Health. He has a foundation (a non- profit organization) that provides access to HIV testing and treatment for communities across Indonesia, including Bali. This is a man with a very large heart!
After graduating in the 1960s and a 21 year stint as a US Navy doctor he began work in Indonesia. His experience and close relationship to Indonesia, from Papua to Sumatra, is reflected in his eclectic home set in sprawling gardens featuring a 25 meter lap pool, plunge pools, a spa overlooking the river and garden pavilions.

A significant portions of the profits from Villa Beji Indah supports Yayasan Bali Peduli, an HIV NGO founded by Dr.Wignall to provide treatment for people living with the virus. Todate there are 700 people who receive regular services at the 2 clinics run by this foundation.

Our guests have often called this placed 'magical', 'peaceful' and 'amazing'. They have also told us that the pictures don't do any justice to the natural beauty of the actual site.

There are 10 unique suites (in 3 separate villas) on this beautiful property which runs along a lush river valley/ravine. We can house a maximum of 25adults.

It is therefore perfect if you are planning anything from a wedding, a special birthday party, a company retreat, a yoga retreat or family reunions.

This place is rented out as single rooms or as small villas (each of the 3 villas can accommodate about 5 - 10 people.

You can also rent the entire villa if you are planning a big event such as a wedding or retreat.

The village of Nyuhkuning is one of the most interesting hamlets in Ubud, noted for it's community civic awareness. It is home to Bumi Sehat Foundation run by famed midwife Robin Lim (CNN hero of the year) and also to the Bali Peduli Foundation (started by Steve and his colleagues) which focuses on HIV prevention, detection and friendly and accessible treatment. There are numerous small cafes and restaurants on the small road leading to Ubud's popular Monkey Forest which is a pleasant stroll away from the estate.

This is certainly the kind of magical place one needs to unwind, de-stress and refresh.

The property is currently managed by Steve's friend Yulia and staff members Aniek and Mitha. Depending on the time of your message, you will get an response from either one of us.

Well, if you want anymore information please let us know.
We hope to see you at this beautiful spot!

(Please note that the entire estate is a no smoking area. Also we are in the tropics, almost in a forest next to a river - so do expect to hear the symphony of birds and frogs along with geckos and butterflies. If you are not a nature loving person, this property is probably not suitable for you. If you love nature, this is a paradise)
