BEAUTIFUL SETTING by the River ONLY 6 mile drive to DAMASCUS ,VA! This quaint, private RUSTIC log cabin is newly furnished, screened in porch, gazebo and nice trails! Nestled on 7 acres with 8 ponds. Hear the sounds of the creek right behind the cabin and cross the bridge to see the horses! This Land was home to the Cherokees and offers not only a place to stay but an experience. One time PET FEE $100.00 for ONE small dog under 30lb, additional small dogs $35/each

The space
It is a small, fully furnished log cabin on 7 acres ! This was a functioning TROUT FARM years ago but right now there are no fish in the ponds. The cabin was newly renovated but has a historic feel to it. There are gas logs for heat as well as electric heat.
UPDATE since Helene’s storm came thru our area, we have been busy trying to clean up but our road coming in has many pot holes still so go slow, especially if you are arriving after dark! Also, we have damage on the property, the little bridge giving access to the other side of the property is gone. The historic schoolhouse on the property is gone, and many of the trees but we are currently working hard to clean up! The flood waters washed out much of the creek bank, so be careful standing near the edge of the creek!!
🐕‍🦺Please note there is an additional one time pet fee of $50for ONE DOG, additional $35 for one dog under 30 lbs. Pay cash once here . Please crate your pet if left unattended, NO EXCEPTIONS, except for tiny dogs.
We will provide crate if you do not have one.
We do extensive cleaning after pets due to our guests with allergies.
⚡️FAST, reliable WiFi signal but NO CELL SERVICE. WiFi calling works well. The kitchen has a full sized frig, but not a full sized oven. It has a new convection oven and two burner hot plate, microwave and toaster.
🌲Inducted into the Rails to Trails Hall of Fame in 2015, the Virginia Creeper Trail is one of the country’s most famous biking trails. The Creeper stretches 34 miles from Whitetop Mountain down to Abingdon, VA, passing straight through downtown Damascus along the way. The portion of the trail going from Whitetop to Damascus is almost all downhill for 17 beautiful miles, making it the most popular bike route in the region.
🚴🏻‍♀️Several bike rental companies in town offer shuttle services from Damascus to Whitetop, so the trail is highly accessible; and there are plenty of opportunities to stop along the way, for food, scenery or historical information.
For more info about the Creeper, check out the VA Creeper Trail website and the VA Creeper Trail Club website.
Please Note: Due to the Corona Virus we are throughly sanitizing all surfaces, but many guests are choosing to bring their own bedding, Queen sheets and blankets and towels. We do provide them and unless we hear from you, the bed will be made up.

Guest access
The 7 acres has nice areas for walking around the ponds as well as a bridge to cross into the horse pastures. The old school house unfortunately was lost due to a fire. There is a remodeled old barn that will occasionally be rented out. The cabin is private from these buildings.
