Modern, secure and well equipped comfortable Apartment in a Superb City Centre neighbourhood. Located directly between the two rail stations and also Kent and Christ Church Universities. You will be a 2min walk to the cathedral gate.
My 'Blue Apartment' has a stylish, well proportioned bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe, a good sized well equipped kitchen. A lovely bathroom with bath & shower and a lounge (including a sofa bed that can sleep 2) a dining table for 4 and a Smart Tv for your Netflix!

The space
Given its very central location my apartment appeals to many guests who are looking for somewhere clean, modern and spacious for a city break, to visit family studying at the nearby colleges, to visit for work or even to attend a language school. Being a university city there are several graduation events through the year. Many people come because they have heard about the history in the city as well as the great places to eat. If you get tired of the city the flat offers a comfortable place to relax in and cook for your selves and watch tv or a movie.

I manage, maintain, clean and prepare the place myself, it is my responsibility to make your stay go as well as possible. In our ‘new normal’ of increased caution following the Covid pandemic it is important we must all take responsibility for our own health and well-being, it is important that guests are comfortable and safe during their stay. I clean and disinfect the place myself and have researched and practice the best way to do so.

If you have any questions about your trip then do please check the information available on the Airbnb site or contact me and I will be happy to help.

Guest access
You are able to use the whole apartment, there is a communal garden area to the rear and storage for bikes. You of course have access to fast wifi.
The flat is on the second floor of a newly rebuilt apartment block of 12 flats. The building is very secure but easy to access; it has no steps between the street and the lift which then leads straight to my front door. If you dont want to use the lift, there is a wide well lit stair case.
The flat is in the middle of the city centre, the front door leads straight into shops, cafes and local history!

Other things to note
During the uncertainty caused by the Covid Pandemic it is important that we as travellers understand the risk of lock downs and restrictions. My host cancellation policy has always been set to 'Moderate' so that guests can cancel or postpone with out penalty from Airbnb up to 5 days before the stay at my place starts.
During the March-June lockdown all of my bookings that cancelled due to government restrictions were without any charge or fee. In the future, I will not charge any fee to future guests who have to cancel because of a government lockdown or travel restriction. I hope that brings some reassurance in these uncertain times.

There is a hairdryer, iron and board, microwave and dishwasher in addition to the usual kitchen equipment and washing machine / dryer.

Children and infants are welcome. I wish to be clear as it is important, other than a couple of games and dvds I have not provided any equipment or facilities for children, such as a cot or stairgate etc. Infants 'in arms' are welcome for free, for children who are mobile and walking / running then they are counted as an additional person.

I am sorry if it disappoints, but I do not iron bedding or towels - life simply is too short!

The Apartment is in a fantastic central location, the city is has always been a great destination for pubs, bars and restaurants. Like every other city there is also a handful of venues in the town centre open until the early hours on a weekend. This will inevitably bring some noise from the reveller who may be excited, happy, angry or sad as they walk home! Expect some noise on a weekend night, especially if the windows are open. In Canterbury this is hard to avoid. There is a pub opposite, you may visit and enjoy it for their food and drink, it is not a music venue but does have a garden seating area opposite my flat. It closes at midnight I believe. There is likely to be chatter and occasional excitement heard from the pub, especially in better weather.
Whilst the road outside is not exactly pedestrianised, it is not a through road. So there will be a few vehicles (mostly taxis and deliveries) using the street, there is not traffic noise in the normal sense.
Being a modern (2017) development the Apartment and building itsself offers, I believe, good access for wheelchair users. This is dependant on the use of the lift however. So whilst there is no steps and the doorways are wide my Apartment does not have any additional equipment such as wall supports / handles, hoists or a walk-in bath etc. The main communal entrance door from the street, for example is quite large and heavy. If you wish to clarify anything at all with regards to accessibility then do please ask before booking.
Hope this all makes sense, any questions please feel free to ask.

The St Margarets / Stour Street / Castle Street neighbourhood is quite eclectic in both style and content. the architecture is almost completely historical and well preserved and the shops and businesses are mostly independent and include numerous outlets for very fine coffee, shops selling second hand books and records, art galleries and some great places to eat and perhaps best of all...very few cars.

Hello I’m Richard, I grew up in Canterbury and after a time living in London and travelling I have enjoyed moving back to the area and appreciating what it has to offer. I am self employed, love travel, like music, film, photography, mountain biking and creativity in general. I enjoy making a home, whether that is for me and my family or for guests staying in my Airbnb place. I like the creativity and problem solving involved and it’s nice to see guests enjoying my city! I manage my own Airbnb adventure and clean, maintain and prepare my place, it’s important for me to know the job is done to my own standards. If you stay in my place I hope you have a great time!
