Great location

A mountain biker's and hiker's paradise! Escape into the mountains, unwind, and unplug! Enjoy complete privacy in an off the grid 12' yurt on nearly 17 acres of land in the heart of the White Mountains. Accessible only by a short hiking path, our yurt allows you to truly leave it all behind. The yurt offers trailside accommodations with direct access to a newly developed network of single track. The space
Our yurt is best suited for adventurous guests seeking unique accommodations in a private, campground-like setting. It may not be a good fit for guests who do not have comfort and experience camping.

From the parking area, the yurt is a quarter mile (5-10 minute) hike down a wooded path. Please be prepared to carry your belongings (there is no vehicle access). Be sure to bring a headlamp and/or flashlight to help you find your way to and from the yurt at night. The off the grid 12' yurt is fully insulated. There are three large vinyl windows looking out across an unobstructed view of Mount Washington! The vinyl can be removed in warm weather and there are screens on all windows.

Those who are up for an adventure can enjoy riding 5 miles of single track trail, which take you directly from the yurt into downtown Bethlehem! Ride to a local brewery for post-adventure hydration, enjoy a meal at a local restaurant, and perhaps even catch a show at the Colonial Theatre! Advanced riders- retrace your steps to enjoy a total of 10 miles of riding including a killer climb back to the yurt. Those feeling a bit less ambitious can return home via a few miles of paved and gravel road.

If riding isn't your style of adventure, hike the trails that leave directly from the yurt. Or, jump in the car- many of the beautiful hikes and attractions the White Mountains have to offer are just a short drive away.

There is no heat, electricity, or running water in the yurt. During cooler months, specifically May, September, and October, we highly recommend bringing warm layers as the temperatures during these times of year can be unpredictable. We supply drinking water (a spigot near the parking area), a hot outdoor shower, and an outdoor toilet. We also include an emergency outhouse style toilet out at the yurt. It is a bag/wood chip system- if you choose to use it, we ask that guests carry out their waste at the end of the stay.

There is a picnic area for dining al fresco. You're welcome to bring your own camp stove and cooking supplies and make use of the picnic area. We're also happy to recommend local restaurants, cafes, and breweries (see the guidebook for our favorites). ***Please note: to avoid property damage (including bears eating your food!) we require guests to store food in their vehicles and to do all cooking in the picnic area rather than at the yurt.

The path to the yurt is lit by solar lamps (but still bring headlamps as they're widely spaced out). There are battery operated string lights in the yurt for after sunset. We provide the makings for coffee and tea and a small propane burner for heating water. The couch folds out into a full size bed which comfortably sleeps two. Bed linens and towels are provided. The windows must be closed when no one is in the yurt (yes, believe it or not a bear once tried to break in when the yurt was left empty with the windows open). So, be prepared for it to be hot when you first arrive, but know it airs out quickly as soon as the windows are opened.

We live on the 17-acre property along with our friendly dog (who may pay you a visit during your stay as he tends to wander around the trails). If you prefer privacy, you won't even know we're around. In fact, we're often out adventuring ourselves. However, we are never more than a phone call away.

My husband and I live on the property. When we're home, we're happy to be available to answer any questions you may have. However, please don't count on us being home- we like to adventure too :) When we're not home, we can usually be reached by phone.
