Welcome to Earl’s Place—your perfect Shenandoah Valley getaway—located near Shenandoah Caverns. Our house is a renovated farmhouse built in 1834. This historic home is a perfect retreat for large families or friend groups looking to visit wineries, breweries or do some hiking off Skyline Drive, all while having plenty of room to relax, unwind, and make lasting memories together. While there is ton to do in the Shenandoah Valley, it's still only 2 hours from DC! Only 20 Minutes from JMU as well!

The space
Some Exciting News!! Earl's Place is in the process of becoming pet friendly and that will be available after July 1st, 2026! We're also adding a 20ft by 20ft patio off the back, which will be completed around the same time!

Our charming and spacious farmhouse is perfect for families looking to relax and unwind in the Shenandoah Valley. With a covered front porch, large dining room, two living rooms, seven bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large yard, your group is bound to have a relaxing trip. End your day around the fire pit, complete with Adirondack chairs for cozy evenings under the stars.

Other things to note
Earl's Place is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Caverns property. A caverns tour is within walking distance as well as the seasonal attraction American Celebration on Parade, which is open everyday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Caverns Cafe is also on site if you are looking to grab a quick lunch.

Earl’s Place is only 25 minutes from Bryce Resort, where you can ski in the winter, or do some downhill mountain biking and golfing in the spring, fall or summer. Massanutten Resorts and Skyline Drive are only 45 minutes away.

We are within a 5 to 20 minute drive from a number of Shenandoah Valley breweries like Swover Creek Farms and Woodstock Brewhouse, or wineries like Third Hill Winery, Cave Ridge, Wolf Gap, and Muse Vineyards.

Go for a scenic drive or explore the hiking paths on Skyline Drive. A plethora of restaurant options are close by and 20 minutes away is Harrisonburg, home of James Madison University.
