Welcome to my beautiful home where you will find all the comforts of home from home. My home is situated just 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Salthill Promenade. The bus stops outside my home which will take you to the city center in 10 minutes, or alternatively you can walk along the sea front and breath in the fresh invigorating Atlantic air!
So why not come and sample the delights of a truly unique city.....and a very warm welcome from Kathryn!!
I offer a complementary breakfast of juice, fresh fruit, eggs, cheese, meats, tea/coffee with homemade scones and preserves. There are laundry facilities available at a moderate fee. Although my calender may look as though I am booked, I have a second bedroom of the same standard which can be viewed in my photo lineup, so please contact me regarding availability. In addition, I have a single bedroom which is available for an additional guest/child in your party.
Interaction with Guests
I am at hand daily to help you with your vacation. I will supply you with maps, brochures and local knowledge. I also will tell about about the hidden gems of Galway known only to the locals!
My home is situated in the village of Salthill which has an array of coffee shops, restaurants and nightlife. The beautiful promenade runs to the oldest part of Galway, the Claddagh and from there to the Spanish Arch and the Latin Quarter of Galway.
The City offers a wonderful eclectic mix of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and shops. In addition it is a medieval city with numerous walking tours, theaters, art galleries and all that Galway as the cultural capital of Ireland has to offer. At the weekend it hosts a farmer's market in front of the medieval St. Nicholas Church where you can meet the locals and tourists, the famous and not so famous in search of artisan food, jewellery and crafts.
For those looking for a more rugged landscape, Galway is the gateway to Connemara, renouned for its wild, beautiful and romantic scenery. There are many bus tours to take you to Connemara and the Arran Islands so a car is not a necessity. The cliffs of Moher are another 'must' and the tour bus company will collect you at my home. From Dublin Airport/City a non stop bus will get you to Galway in under 3 hours.
Other Things to Note
I have off street parking available for you.
This is a non smoking home. However, you may sit outside in my beautiful back garden if you wish to smoke...of on a wet day, the garden shed!
Please be respectful of other guests and my neighbours and keep noise at night time to a minimum.
Out of respect to my other guests and my family, please do not take showers after 11.00 at night as other people are sleeping!
Lovely stay, Kathryn is the perfect host in every way - the house is within walking distance of the town centre and there is free parking too. The room was lovely, I would have liked to stay longer. Next time!
Had a lovely stay in Kathryn's b&b. Kathryn is a very welcoming lady & would defo recommend to family & friends.
Kathryn is just a great and so kind host that she collected us from Galway coach station herself and delivered us to station the next day as well.
The house is beautiful and clean , she did all cleaning jobs and housework herself, really impressive.
Wonderful stay in Kathryn's place.
Myself and my wife had a lovely 2 night stay at kathryns home. She was very welcoming and helpful, she helped us with directions to a few things locally which helped us feel like we knew where we were going.
We were going to a wedding and had a little present but hadnt wrapped it yet, she helped us out by giving us some wrapping paper which we thought was very generous.
The room was nice, nice breakfast each morning, it was great.
I would stay with kathryn again, highly recommended.
Look no further stay here.
I was so impressed by Ireland and my nice staying in Galway! It was my first trip with Airbnb, I was alone. Kathryn has a lovely house in Salthill, very cosy and beautiful! She met me at bus station, showed me everything, helped with Cliffs of Moher Tour! Kathryn is a very nice host! Told me a few interesting stories about history of Galway, legends about Claddagh Ring (i bought a beautiful one!). My english is not perfect, but Kathryn was very delicate and kind.
A small funny dog lives at the house, it was so cool to play with her =) The room is very cosy, full of light and nice design! The breakfast was delicious! In the evening Kathryn lighted a fireplace and i was sitting near and thinking about myself...it was a nice moment, I was very relaxed and full of happiness! =)
Super accueil !! Kathryn nous a donné de bons conseils pour visiter Galway. Chambres petites mais très propre. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié ! A recommander !

Hi my name is Kathryn! I am a mature student at my local University. I love to walk our beautiful promenade, hike in connemara, cycle around the city and attend my local gym. Galway is the cultural capital of Ireland and I am an enthusiastic follower of the theatre, the wonderful music scene and all that the arts have to offer. In my down time I cook, bake and spend enjoyable hours in my garden. I love to meet new and interesting people. My home is warm, welcoming and open to you. I look forward to meeting you, hearing about your life and culture...please come and visit and share your experiences with us!
